I just discovered that not only did I put this song up previously, I also used the same two lines. So here's a different song.Paul Victory wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 4:00 pmWritten by John Denver, but it was Peter, Paul and Mary who charted with it.

LoL, Peter.
Dang, I would have had that on the first clue if I hadn't been so busy being all retired and stuff. Yes, today is the "official" first day of my retirement. I turned 55 on 10/5, and the rest of my life is all mine...
(OT, but I just want EVERYone to know!)

If you really want everyone to know, I can start a new post on the main forum.
I lasted working until I was 56, 16 years ago, and now I can not remember how I managed to fit working into my busy schedule.
Now, just don't fail retirement by taking another job!
edit:
ps: time to update your age in your signature.

Pfff - people retiring at 55/56...I hate you... (actually just seriously jealous). Congrats on not having to worry about getting up for work any more. I'm 57 and can't see any chance of me retiring for another 8 years....maybe not even then...

Re: Name that tune
Which is the right answer, Peter.
As it's topical at the moment, I was very tempted to put up a line from Blue Moon but I thought it was a bit too far in the past for some of our younger, thread contributors.
With Witchy Woman, I was also tempted to only write Woohoo. Pushing my luck there perhaps.
At the beginning of the Lock Up over here, I did say to Richard, “ Do you think we will have to wear masks in shops? “ and he said, “ Only if we are planning to rob the place. “
During our many walks out and about, we have rather indulged in too much Coffee ‘ N ‘ Cake. Sweeties not so much.
Anyway, over to you.
Ron, we wish you a Very Happy Retirement.

I retired a few months short of my 61st birthday and I managed to set quite a few PBs over the following year or so. I also picked up a few gold medals in the PIRC, IIRC and BRIC as a result of all the extra time I had available to train.
So, you know what you need to do! No pressure, though.

Re: Name that tune
We heard this next song on the radio today, and thought it a great song and, an upbeat message is a nice change. (We can think of other nice changes we are hoping for! )
Please show me that you know this one, regardless of initial chart position.

And that's all right
So don't you give up now"

Re: Name that tune
Absolutely no idea. Is this another song that was a huge hit in the US and didn’t chart at all in the UK?
If so, I can’t really complain. After all, I put up a Eurovision Song Concert winner that I’m pretty sure was never released as a single in the US.
