Also, I wish just about anybody could be here, but we will continue to shelter until a vaccine is available. I can not remember looking forward to being able to get a shot ("injection") before!

I’ve been trying to figure out the above clue. My first thought was David Gates and Bread, but I don’t think that’s it. Then I started trying to figure out the reference to gross, but I can’t make any connection.

Paul, your first thought was correct!

Half way there with David Gates and Bread. The "gross" was not meant to confuse, just a lead-in for "bread".

We hope you and Jen are well, and can hopefully safely go to Portugal soon. Someday, we will be able to see you again, either here, there, or in-between.

The only other song I can think of by Bread is If, which was a number 1 hit in the UK for Telly Savalas (of Kojak fame). I don't remember those words in the song, but that's my guess, for what it's worth.
