Re: Name that tune
A whole verse from a huge 90's hit (UK and USA):
You've got the most unbelievable blue eyes I've ever seen
You've got me almost melting away
As we lay there under blue sky with pure white stars
Exotic sweetness a magical time
Say it, say it again

You've got me almost melting away
As we lay there under blue sky with pure white stars
Exotic sweetness a magical time
Say it, say it again

Re: Name that tune
Good guess - but alas no.
Here's the whole first verse (I wouldn't have got in from this as a whole either) but concentrate on the first 2 words:
Feels like I'm standing in a timeless dream
Of light mists of pale amber rose
Feels like I'm lost in a deep cloud of heavenly scent
Touching, discovering you

Re: Name that tune
I know there was a song called Feels Like I'm In Love a number of years back, but I think that was the 80s.

Re: Name that tune
Not that (think that was Kelly Marie with a fairly dreadful early 80's pop song).
Next clues - British female artist. It was a hit in 15 countries peaking at No.5 in the UK and No.2 in the USA

Re: Name that tune
I agree that the Kelly Marie song was pretty awful. No idea about your song, though.

Re: Name that tune
OK - this one's a bust from getting it from the lyrics so I'll give up - it's: I love you, always forever by Donna Lewis
Going back in time and style, here's the three line lead up to the song title:
Oh no, not me
I never lost control
You're face to face

I'm pretty sure that's correct! So I'd go ahead and post another one, if I was you Jill.

Re: Name that tune
Thank you Paul - this was one of those very rare occasions when I recognised the lyrics straight away.
Let's see how quickly ... or not, these lyrics are recognised.
I've wasted all my tears
Wasted all those years

Re: Name that tune
Well done Ann and Peter for getting the song, if not the correct title. Mmmm … methinks we have been here before … somewhat recently.
Very belated birthday wishes Peter - I don’t know how I managed to miss Ann’s post - you will have to store them up and add them to next year’s birthday greetings.
I hope that your return to base was hassle free and in these surreal times, you keep holding on to each other.
Steve, you have nailed it, although I suspect you may have had a little help from Ann and Peter.

Re: Name that tune
I'll accept help from Ann and Peter any time at all. This was a solo effort though
We have tickets to the next show, whenever that may be now.
Trying for another ear worm ...

Re: Name that tune
It reminds me of Bad to Me by Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas, but I know that's not it. Problem is, I can't get that particular song out of my head when I look at those lyrics.

Re: Name that tune
I had to come back to this one. I immediately was able to sing some follow-up lyrics in my head, but couldn't "name that tune". That's because it's one of those songs where the title is not in the lyrics... I believe it's -

Thanks, Wolf, and glad I could help, Paul!

If it's John Prine, I'm afraid I don't know any of his songs.
