Re: Name that tune
Felton, for some reason this sounded familiar, so I searched this thread for "Patty Valentine". In 2013, when Paul Victory posted this song, no one knew it. The long series of hints starts on page 10.
Probably best if you choose another.

Re: Name that tune
Ok, never mind, this is Hurricane by Bob Dylan, the opening track from Desire. It's a protest song about the boxer Rubin Carter who was wrongly convicted of murder. For those of you into podcasts, this story has been told by the BBC under the name of The Hurricane Tapes - recommended listening
Here's another (hopefully easier) lyric:
"Lookin' back on the track gonna do it my way
Out of sight in the night, out of sight in the day
Lookin' back on the track gonna do it my way"

Re: Name that tune
Clue: This song was on the soundtrack of a movie by a director who has a film in the cinemas this month

Re: Name that tune
Felton, although I do not recognise the lyrics, could the director be Quentin Tarantino,as his film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was released recently?

Re: Name that tune
Felton, still not ringing any bells, although from the little I know of it, could the other film be Reservoir Dogs?

Re: Name that tune
Apologies accepted Felton and although I'm still none the wiser, my son, Ian, says that it's Green Bag.

Re: Name that tune
Thank you Felton - a case of slapdash typing on my part as Ian did tell me it was Little Green Bag.
Not sure about this one:

Some fairytale bliss
Just something I can turn to

Re: Name that tune
I recognise those lyrics and I think they might be Coldplay - not sure on the song title though (there's been so many and they all blur into one).

Re: Name that tune
Plummy, you are only half right because Coldplay recorded the song with an American duo.
Not qualified to comment on Coldplay’s output as the only other song I know is Fix You.

It's Something Just Like This ( The Chainsmokers and Coldplay ).
Try this:
Lying in my bed, I hear the clock tick and think of you
Caught up in circles, confusion is nothing new
