Yes it is Jan - Cockney Rebel's Come Up And See Me ( Make me Smile ) and yes, it is a good song for a Grumpy Old Woman.

For anyone who likes the song, there is an up to date version with Steve Harley on YouTube ( Rockwiz ).

Your turn.

When I saw champagne mentioned, I thought "I know this song". Then I realised that it's not Living La Vida Loca. #-o

So over to you!
Thank you Tako - I'm in agreement.

I must admit that I did think of Golden Earring, when back in November, Jan, Sheena, Plummy and Paul G, were having ' intellectual discussions ' about Dutch groups. I've just re-read their comments ...   With hindsight, the forum police should have censored Sheena's lewd remarks about " ding, ding dongs  "

Okay, I'm back in control now.   :^o

Yesterday and days before

Just a guess based on the words I'm seeing (as opposed to actually knowing what song it is!)...

Is it Have You Ever Seen the Rain by CCR?

Yes it is Ron. Well reasoned out and well done. :D =D>

You are up next.

PS - Sheena, for some reason and usually when I'm in a shop, your original funny '' ding, ding dong " comments pop into my head. Sooner or later, the ' crazy, giggling woman ' by the cheese counter, will have to be escorted from the premises.  " Now, dear, come quietly. "

Thanks, Jill - Inspired by your comments above (yes, that's a clue) :
