ok, Queen, Led Zeppelin, the Stones and Metallica are my number two...and here comes one from my number one, the most of us could row a 5 k while the song is playing...it is veeeeery looong... :D

There's Winston Churchill dressed in drag,
he used to be a British flag, plastic bag, what a drag.
The frog was a prince, the prince was a brick, the brick was an egg,
the egg was a bird.

(the undoubted masterpiece of the band)

Pink Floyd, or because of the words, more likely Genesis...?
Just looking for clues ... :-) (not that's not the song title guess)

yeah wolfie you are so close...the initials of the band leaders were or are P.G. following P.C. and of course also R.W.

But band leaders is the wrong word...just say they were the singers

in my opinion T.B. is the heart of the band...without him the magic of the sound would be gone...

I'm going to display my ignorance here, but I presume PG is Peter Gabriel and PC is Phil Collins. I know RW is not Robbie Williams, but I can't offer any alternative. As for TB...?

R.W. is Ray Wilson, T.B. is Tony Banks, some extra clue: it is from the album foxtrot.

To find the answer without google you can read the bands article on wikipedia, just scroll down to the chapter mention this album, and you´ll find the answer...remember the most of us could row a 5k while the song is playing,

sorry, i know it is difficult again, but i couldnt resist to introduce you this masterpiece of progressive rock !

last clue, one more phrase:

...And it's hey babe your supper's waiting for you.
Hey my baby, don't you know our love is true.

i`ll give the solution this evening, but if anyone gives the answear right away, i´ll promise only to choose easy ones in the future !

But it is not an album title...it is of course the longest track of the album ~23min

ok here is the solution: Genesis : supper´s ready

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4HfFwVy-h0

You can row while you are listening and make a flat out with negative split from 15:40 till 19:40min of this video version, it is progressive rock, and not everyones taste, but i find it very fascinating, so i couldnt resist to introduce it, but now a very easy one:

You need coolin', baby, I'm not foolin',
I'm gonna send you back to schoolin',
Way down inside honey, you need it,
I'm gonna give you my love,
I'm gonna give you my love.

Sounds like Whole lotta love by Led Zeppelin?

I must admit I googled the previous one, not a song I'd heard before (only know the more main stream Genesis stuff).

Yes thats Led Zeppelin : whole lotta love, the Peter Gabriel Era is not so well known to the most people, but it is a very interesting experimental time of Genesis, i also began with the classiv pop themes with Phil Collins like invisible touch or jesus he knows me,

over to you !

Correct Dave, a cover version that's at least as good as the original.

Think you're right

Worth checking out on YouTube if you've never heard of it. The full name is "The ballad of Barry and Freda (Let's do it)"

Back to you Dave.
