That's never going to be anything other than a shocker Jason. I hope things go well for your dad at Christie's - it's one of the best places to be if you are unfortunate enough to be diagnosed with cancer.

Had some good news last night about my Dad. The doctor has given him another ct scan and because the tumor has not moved or grown they don't think it's cancer and want to just monitor it as the operation is a big one and may not be worth it. :) :)

I dropped my excellent nexus 7 tablet today. Smashed screen. Broken digitizer. :(

Such a brilliant device I've ordered a new one but total pain in the wallet.

Bummer Thomas!! And I know how attached you guys get to your gadgets :D
My 5 year old smashed the screen on our iPad last year (which we were able to get replaced for about $300) so I invested in a Griffin Survivor case - apparently these things are roadtested by the US Military and they can be dropped from a height of 2m onto concrete. A year on and lots of use from 5 year old and 2 year old and no more accidents!
Reckon you should look at getting one for the new one if they do a version for the nexus 7

I've been pondering whether to invest in a new case, or just being a bit more careful about where I put the tablet down...

Bad announcement timing Thomas - a couple of days early - my nephew has just said he wants to sell his (he's only had it a month) - sorry, has that made it even worse?

As i know some of you pretty well for the past 5 + years I thought I should tell you why I have gone quiet again. :( Some of my " issues" from the past have started to resurface again and seem to have resurfaced as anger issues. Shouting out at other drivers when it just does not matter and swearing in unappropriate places. I do not even know why I am doing these things but I have got to get them sorted out in my head.
Everything else in my life, job and training wise is going really well. Marriage is fine but I think it may be affecting the kids so I am going to have to change who I am or leave basically. There are some BIG changes for me coming up and things will hopefully get sorted out again when I get to the root of it all.

I am not sure why I am writing all this on here but I felt I needed to put it down some were.

Not sure what to say, Jason.

It seems like you have your priorities straight.

I'm glad your marriage is going well -- hopefully, the support from your wife will help you get things straightened out. Coming from a family with a dad who had 'anger' issues, I have to agree that it definitely affects the kids... it's 30 years on down the line and I still can't bear to be in the same room with him.

Best of luck,
zoot

Hi zoot. It all stems from being bullied very badly when I was a kid from my brother who is 3 years older than me...not been in the same room as him for 5 years know + I am bigger and stronger than him as well know. My Dad WAS a big drinker when we lived in South Africa and I think I may have locked some of my chilhood memories away .(He can not drink know he is diabetic and had a triple bypass some years ago, changed man know.)

I need to get all this crap out of my head and stop feeling sorry for myself . Life is 2 short for all this carry on.

Jason,

Sorry to hear about your issues, I have known you for a few years so I have seen you cope with them pretty well mate.

I would suggest talking about it to a professional will help, I had some counselling years ago after some real trauma in my life and it helped me put things in perspective.

Cheers mate :D

Gaining control over your health and well-being is one of those times in your life that you get to be completely selfish and not feel bad about it. If you want to meet your goals, you have to make it about you. You have to make it work for you and you alone. Anything less is a setup for failure.
