next generation free spirit (now with pics)
I'm proud to announce the arrival of the newest free spirit. Oscar arrived on the third of may, exactly ten weeks early and weighing 2lb 11oz. Mother and baby are doing well, but Oscar will probably have to stay in the neonatal intensive care unit until the end of June .

Congratulations on the birth of a baby thorn! Reading between the lines I guess there must have been some anxious moments along the way. Best wishes to you all over the coming weeks.

Yes been an anxious few weeks. We were in and out of hospital several times in the two weeks before Oscar was born, but at least that allowed him to get some steroids before he arrived to help his lungs. He has not needed any major assistance since he arrived and is starting to gain weight.

Oscar is one month old today and now weighs in at 4lb 8oz. Yesterday he decided that he was well enough to move out of his incubator and into a cot. Will try to put up a couple of pics when I put the PC on next.

Re: next generation free spirit
Happy to announce that after six weeks in hospital Oscar came home just over a week ago. Cats aren't to sure what to make of him yet and he's been waking us plenty at night, but mrs thornmaster and I are both very happy. Started sorting out my pictures so will put a couple on here when I'm done.

Great to have a little bit of good news to raise the spirits and brighten the heart in what is normally a doom laden world.
