Feeling a bit fed up that Wales won today, but I have to admit that they were the better team. Still, I thought we were going to sneak a lucky win. Where's the luck of the Irish when you need it?

Re: 6 Nations
It was a great match - Wales were probably slightly the better side but were very fortunate that Bradley Davis only got yellow for that tip tackle.
Far better than the dross the previous day from Murrayfield!!
I know it's only the first weekend but I can't see the champions this year not coming from Ireland, Wales or France.

Re: 6 Nations
It was a very good game, and agree that the result probably hinged on the yellow instead of red.
Not too sure about the final penalty either, very harsh.

Brilliant game of rugby-Bradley Davies very lucky not to go, thought that Wales edged it, the game had everything and apart from that one incident a fantastic advert for good flowing rugby

Paul, I think we'll find Barritt's mother is English, so he' perfectly entitled to an England shirt. As for someone with a surname of Botha, now there's another thing .paulgould wrote:Maybe he could share the gran that Mouritz Botha and Brad Barritt are probably usingstrider77 wrote:I am sure that George North has an English Grandmother if not I am sure that one can be found

Personally I'd like to see the scrapping of the residency rule too.

Steve, I know you are right about Barritt, just using him as an example to highlight the increasing number of non-English players playing for England teams(rugby and cricket mainly).Wolfmiester wrote:Paul, I think we'll find Barritt's mother is English, so he' perfectly entitled to an England shirt. TBH, I'm quite happy for you to have MoBo, Kevin Pietersen, Kieswetter, Matt Stevens, to name a few, but would really like Trott back .

Looks like an exciting last few minutes coming up in Paris.
Twickenham next week should also be interesting, although there will obviously be more attention paid to whether Wales can clinch the grand slam.

Very fitting that Ireland should win the 6 nations in Brian O'Driscoll's last international. What a legend!

Only because the French deliberately lost in order to stop England winning the title
Sorry Paul, only joking - you are right O'Driscoll has been an awesome player for Ireland - he will take some replacing!

Re: 6 Nations
Thanks Stan. To be honest, BOD is irreplaceable. A bit like Gareth Bale for Spurs. But it was great to see him go out on a winning note. We could well be vying with Scotland and Italy for the wooden spoon next year.Stan wrote:Only because the French deliberately lost in order to stop England winning the title

Re: 6 Nations
Hi Paul,
I was at Twickenham for the All Blacks game, another opportunity missed I feel.
Wales must feel exactly the same.
Well done Ireland, and you now made England's game next Saturday even harder

Re: 6 Nations
After my negative comments earlier, I may have to revise my expectations. Ireland would have moved up to 3rd in the IRB world rankings if South Africa hadn't scored that late try. As it is, we remain in 5th. Maybe if we beat Australia? [-o<

Re: 6 Nations
OK. We're now up to 3rd in the world rankings, so that means one of two potential outcomes. We win our 3rd ever Grand Slam or we lose 3 or more matches and finish in the bottom half of the table.Paul Victory wrote:After my negative comments earlier, I may have to revise my expectations. I'm a lot more hopeful after watching today's match, but Ireland never perform well as favourites, so that has me worried.

A rare win against France. The match against England in two weeks' time could well be a grand Slam decider. Bring it on!

Nearly all of the games have been a good watch too Paul.
Got to feel for the Scots, again! When will they learn to convert the opportunities?

Although I did get up at 07:00 and went to a 24hr sports bar. They couldn't get it on any channel though

should be a great Saturday. I have Ireland down as slight favorites (what do the bookies say?)
I doubt if you'll get much sense out of me at the final whistle of the England game though!
