However, my son got and completed an apprenticeship with BAe but wasn't happy going to the same place doing the same thing all the time and he now does contract work. He'll likely have a bit more competition for contract work soon. :(
I believe that they said it would effect 7000 other contractors with the job losses at BAE Systems. :(

I have to keep my head up and keep plugging on though.I will probably not get moved or made redundant for atleast 3 months.(Normally a 90 day consultancy period with the unions.)

It's very difficult Jason, but a positive attitude is necessary.

Having been there a couple of times myself I've found that when the dust settles wherever I am seems to have been a better place than the one I left or was forced out of.

Yesterday, Richard and I were were scattering his late parents' ashes at a place called Rosedale ( they used to enjoy walking there ) on the North Yorkshire Moors.

Richard was scattering his dad, Joe's ashes,(he'd been a pilot in the RAF )when a fighter plane appeared and flew over and around us for several minutes before flying away.

Obviously on some sort of exercise ...

And then you post your photograph ... Joe would have appreciated that.

The end of an era today. :( Just been given a letter saying I am being moved off the job I have been doing for 7 and a half years on Eurofighter typhoon.
I am being moved onto JSF Fighter instead which could be a good thing in the long run. (Restructuring things they call it).
They say that the JSF has wok till 2025 so onwards and upwards. :D :D

Bad news for the Typhoon - good news for the JSF F-35 Lightning? :) Will you have to relocate?

I will just have to do a lot of security clearance and move to a different hanger on the same site. We work on a very big site, used to be an airfield. :)

Sounds like a very significant silver lining Jason. Definitely a glass a lot more than half full.
