Another "alphabet" limerick, this one running from letter b to t

Black cats dart everywhere fast
Go hunting instinctively, just
Keeping low, moving nicely
Operating precisely
Quite relishing sanctuary, trust

Festive greetings to all FS

In some parts of the globe there's a freeze on
As for Santa, I don't know what he's on
It could be the beer
But his message is clear
To you all: Compliments of the Season

I ask all our team members to cheer
For our bard from down under
Who fills us with wonder

The old year has now terminated
With multiple pleasures you're sated
What's now on the cards :?:
Just resume those hard yards
On the C2 with joy unabated

A very Happy New Year to you all.

Philip, I've deliberately not looked at this thread since the end of last year - thought I would save up the pleasure. Couldn't hold out any longer. =D> :D 8) says it all.

Another "alphabet" limerick, this one running in reverse from letter "V" to letter "D"

Philip, didn't quite make it until the end of the month, as I weakened yesterday and read your excellent offering. =D> :)

The following sums up my hopeless attempt:

Hazel & I are in the middle of a coach tour and this month's offering comes from Alice Springs .
It is our first trip to the outback and we have seen some spectacular scenery.

Gardeners' choice

Now I don't wish to cause pandemonium
But if you're after a nice pelargonium
Let your glance not be cursory
Take advice from the nursery
Or you might find you've bought a geranium

Phil, I hope that the surgery was successful and you are making good progress, with everything going according to plan.

Your metrical compositions are up to their usual high standard. :D =D>

We have several varieties of crocosmia in the garden including the ever popular Lucifer. However, Richard says that some diehards still insist on calling the plant by its old name, montbretia.

A jobbing gardener from Esher
Labelled Lucifer montbretia,
Crocosmia its called
His employer then bawled
At college just what did they teach ' yer '

Best wishes
Jill :)

Thanks, Jill. The surgery went well and in the last few days I have managed to get around without the aid of my walking stick.
That's progress! I see my surgeon next Tuesday for a check and expect the go-ahead for being able to drive again.

I liked your limerick. Hazel and I still refer to the plants as "montbretia". Old habits die hard!

That's excellent news Phil - hope your surgeon was able to give you the ' Thumbs Up ' with regards to driving again?

It made Richard laugh when I told him that you were a ' Die Hard ' - he is a self-confessed pedant when it comes to gardening. If it makes you feel any better, Richard hated Latin at school and was given the cane for not doing his Latin homework. How times have changed ...

Keep entertaining us with your wonderful poems.

Take care

Jill :)

That's great news, Philip. It must have been very frustrating, not being able to drive.

"Exercise" is a word that may bore some
Tempt folk on to the erg, just don't force 'em
And when they're on that seat
With straps binding their feet
The urge to compete will be awesome

Thank you Philip, for two more clever and humorous limericks. =D>

I think there are one or two of our ergers who might enjoy a burger.

I do hope that you are still making good progress with your mobility.

This is the eighth in the series of “alphabet” limericks;
it runs backwards from letter “z” to letter “h”.

Zoë's Yamaha xylophone wobbled
Very understandably tumbled
Soon restored quaintly playing
On notes multi-layering
Keyboard just instantly hobbled

It's the longest month of the year
Use the extra hour
