Any twitchers out there?

Post by Daffy »

I saw a redwing in my garden today - first time I've seen one in Manchester, and I've lived here a while. Is this unusual?

Redwings overwinter here they arrive from Scandinavia in the autumn and can be widespread especially in the northern half of the country I live on the east coast and have seen flocks of several hundred they tend to move around and will find most food sources over the winter so they can be seen anywhere ....bonny birds though :)- look out for Fieldfares they often flock together

Perhaps just been driven into town by the weather then. It was very pretty. Luckily the cat was upstairs sleeping off breakfast. Thanks Den-J!
