NFL - What teams,
Do you follow , (if any) ,across the pond.
The Play -offs are almost upon us and it's looking very open this year.
Colts look superb with Manning throwing superbly.
Got a feeling the San Diego Chargers may pull it off though.

Re: NFL - What teams,
John Elway was a true great. Also top QB 's around that time were Montana (49ers) and Marino (Dolphins).
This guy Peyton Manning is up there with them I think
I think this time of year it's great watching a sport played in huge stadiums ,usually in sunny conditions,(Jacksonville and San Diego etc ) . Makes you feel good to see some sun. (just grey fog here everyday at the moment).
The atmosphere always seems electric to. I'd love to go and see a game.
Wonder if any of the teams w/out on the C2?

Re: NFL - What teams,
You guys follow American Football? I thought there was only one kind a football revered in the UK - you have totally ruined my perception of UK fellows being sane and rational creatures. I have no opinion at all on the teams, the only sporting event I ever watch on TV is the Tour de France. I confess while I attend a Superbowl party hosted by a friend every year, I could not tell you who even played in it last year much less who won....

Re: NFL - What teams,
They present these spectacles so well in the States. Lots of razzamataz. I'm also keen on Ice hockey .
Would watch NHL games on TV but I don't get it with my current package. Always liked the Boston Bruins due to the 'Cheers' show being based there and the characters following the Bruins. Sad 'eh.
Maybe if I ever get to the US for the CrashB's I could go see the Bruins.
Personally it's the physical side of these sports that attracts me. Rugby Union is still my first love.

Re: NFL - What teams,
Now hockey makes me think you are at least a bit more sane!
I have not been to a pro hockey game, but lots of collegiate ones which were very fun. My sister plays hockey in the Boston area so if you ever make it to B's I'll put her to work finding tickets through her local connections....

Re: NFL - What teams,
I used to watch grid iron when I was a kid. There was a program on C4 on a Sunday. My team was SF 49ers. Montana and Rice nearly as good as Bergkamp and Henry. First game I watched was on World of Sport (I'm showing my age) Cowboys vs Redskins in a superbowl. Cowboys had an old coach who used to wear a hat. For some reason I thought he looked a really decent man so I wanted them to win, was his name Tom Landry or have I made that up?
C4 used to show the Superbowl live and each year I'd retire to bed and watch it on a small black and white. Great game, don't watch now cos Mrs T tolerates my Gooner following but won't extend to four hours of american football on a sunday. Luckily tho this saves me from watching the 49ers who have turned into a joke. Why is this my American friends what went wrong
Happy Xmas by the way.........

Re: NFL - What teams,
Hi Neil , same problems as over here I guess. Money getting moved around and new clubs/teams getting the best players.
Back in the 80's teams like Southampton and Leeds were top division clubs remember. They were the days,
49'ers were my favs to in the 80's. Always remember a player called Bubba Parris. Huge Linebacker. Just thought he had a really cool name .

Got a feeling the San Diego Chargers may pull it off though.
Indianapolis Colts are still favourites though.
