Anyway, my vacation turn out a little different that planed.
Got that discus rupture and thought I should die, which just turn out to be swollen. Silly me
Did only 5K which I was warned against to do (but I needed that valentine heart  )
In stead I did a lot of weights and I seem to have kept up shape by that and doing some bike and skicross machines. Otherwise a lot of painkillers and lying on my stomack and on my back on ice (straight) looking tv and checking up on your efforts.

I'm fed up with all these tales of skiing and the wonderful snow

Linzi & I are off to Dublin on Saturday for a little break.
We have tickets for the rugby (I fear another England loss), plan to do some sightseeing, take in a few pubs, and have a meal booked with Mr & Mrs Victory on Sunday evening in a nice Italian overlooking the Liffey.
Looking forward to it immensely.
Back home Monday evening to recover.

I'd be surprised if you're celebrating a rugby victory, but I'm sure you'll have a great time.

I'm sure we'll have a pleasant evening on Sunday, whatever the result on Saturday.

There will be at least one victory - two if you include Jennifer.

I heard something on the radio not long ago about the extent to which human DNA is similar to monkey DNA. Apparently, it's something well in excess of 99%, which shows the impact that a relatively minor change can make.

In my own case, I always thought I could be a great rugby player if I could just change a few letters in my name.

Saturday Week I'm off to Rio for 12 nights, staying in an apartment in Ipanama. I've been around a bit but I have to say I'm looking forward to this more than most, the more I read about it the more I find there is to see and do, the Lonley Planet Guides are excellent.

I suspect you may see me posting as a heavy weight on my return, after visiting places like this =P~ =P~ .

Despite Stan's opinion of me, I am a real meat monster and plan to eat and drink to my hearts content. A 10lb gain is my prediction :o

Emily, did you see the one with (Mad Money) Cramer? Some people thought Jon got too serious but I loved it. Tell me which air date and I'll watch for ya in the audience.

Kirby,

I did see the Cramer show. I thought it was a tad too serious (and I sort of felt bad for Cramer--he was slightly ambushed). Stewart seems to have become quite earnest recently. The lead up to the interview was totally entertaining though.

I was unable to get into the show. :( The "tickets" are 1st come 1st serve. I was one who arrived in time, but after waiting 2 hours in line, getting into the doors, I and 4 others were turned away as they said there weren't anymore seats. But supposedly I will be able to get into a future show.

Brooklyn was great. I settled into my vacation speed, which is sloooooooooooooooow, quickly. I took a 2.5 mile walk or so in around 1:15. It was great. Lovely weather. It was good to catch up with friends. I will have to back again soon.

I'm off to the Algarve again on Sunday.

Hoping the erg is still operational so that I can do some catching up.

If not, I'm sure I'll find plenty of other things to do!

The best laid plans and all that.

My throat felt a bit sore at work yesterday afternoon and I found I could hardly swallow my dinner. I had great difficulty getting to sleep and woke up around 2:30 feeling that my throat was becoming increasingly constricted and I was soon going to have trouble breathing.

Got on the internet and discovered that a really bad sore throat, while very uncomfortable is generally not too serious, although an antibiotic might be needed to make it clear up. With tomorrow's flight and this evening's football match (Ireland v Bulgaria) in mind, I went to the doctor this morning and was told I have a very inflamed throat, but that it should clear up in a couple of days (maybe longer if it's viral).

Unfortunately, NO rowing until it clears up and I was also advised that it might be better not to go to tonight's match (which advice I'm ignoring).

So it looks like I might not get the opportunity to do much catching up on the meterboard. :(

Off to a cottage near Salcome (south Devon) tomorrow assuming my daughters cold/flu/conjunctivitus/hypochondria gets a bit better. A week away should be good for all of us as we are all pretty tired at the moment.

There is a "fully equipped" gym on the caravan/cottage park apparently but I've no idea of ergs being present (we'll soon see I suppose).

I'm still debating resting for the whole of the rest of April as my groin is still knackered (hence the low metres count) so may not even venture in there.

Off to India on Thursday or Friday or maybe Saturday to work for a few weeks on a survey boat off the East coast.

Got a holiday booked in Mexico (with a few days in New York) in August too

Went to Alicante for the night last week, but that probably doesn't count as I'm living in Valencia 8)

Our back garden looks a good prospect this year as our baby is due 31st July. So well worth missing out on a summer holiday and I think it is safe to say that I may not be going skiing next season either

If you've not been to Dahab snorkelling before, PM me for some info. We went last year for two weeks snorkelling and it was brilliant.
