Counting down to Tuesday when we have the exciting drive cross country to Harwich to climb about The Jewel of the Seas:

Bigger than the ship we went on last year but still a lot smaller that The Freedom of the Seas we toured the Carribbean on. All stops are places I've never been (including Harwich!!)

All aboard for:
Copenhagen
Stockholm
Gothenburg
Helsinki
Tallinn (Estonia)
2 night in St. Petersburg

There may be a single C2 on board but judging by the condition I've seen of them previously , I will be taking my chain oil.

Is that because of the destination stops or because you've heard of the amazing, endless wonderful food they serve 24/7 (or has that just made you even more jealous   )

Looks wonderful, Dave. Helsinki is my wish list. And Stockholm. Oh, and Copenhagen. Okay, they're all on my wish list.

Have a great trip! Looking forward to more pictures.

Hope you have a great time Plummy - it looks fantastic. In 1981 I went to Saint Petersburg when it was still Lenningrad and Copenhagen but I haven't been to any of the others.

24/7 endless wonderful food? It's probably best if I don't stow away in your suitcase then. I have visions of you arriving in front of Cornucopia and saying "I could murder a baked bean." If only I had your willpower.

Thread revival alert!!!

This years seaborne adventure (August) will be a little closer to home in the Western Mediterranean and a change of cruise line to P&O as Royal Caribbean couldn't quite manage the destination list/price/embarkation preference point (no flying thus no baggage limitation (not my request!))

Sailing on the P&O ship Azura (she's a beauty):

I'm in Austria at the moment, supposedly on a summer walking holiday but it started snowing this morning at 1300 metres! Might turn into my first skiing holiday :)

There is a gym on page 12 of the photos but I don't see any rowers.

There is a significant birthday in our house this Christmas and the victim/lucky party had a choice of being at home or away.

She has chosen a family holiday.

So we leave 22nd December for a flight to Geneva, followed by a 3 hour+ transfer (via the Mont Blanc tunnel) to PILA.

Pila is a small resort above Aosta in Italy. There's a cable car up from Aosta for those staying there but we're actually staying in Pila itself.

So Christmas Day and the birthday at 3,000 metres.

Now got to hope that the snow arrives in time so a few months scanning the weather reports!

We return on 29th and I found out today that we've been volunteered to have the New Year party for our friends!

Counting the days.
Uphill to the finish

Off to Alvor again in a couple of hours time. Planning to go see some golf at the Portuguese Masters in Vilamoura, have a few nice meals and do some kakaoke and maybe even do a bit of erging while I'm over there.

Weather forecast is around 30 degrees for the next few days, so I may even get in some sunbathing.

I'm really that bad! Sitting in an Irish pub in Alvor using their WiFi and watching Spurs v West Ham. Only thing needed to make this a perfect afternoon is a few goals and 3 points for Spurs.

Not many golfers on here are there?
Just got back from 8 days in California.
Lovely place, nice people.
Played at one of golf's mecca's - Pebble Beach. Wow, what a place.
