JR - really jealous.

tried to get tickets and couldn't

tried to get tickets for O2 but couldn't

tried to get Green Day tickets for the O2 but couldn't.

Really irritated that Muse sells out for the O2 in 20 minutes and 30 minutes after going on sale they're on E-Bay!

I refuse to pay tout prices for anything and people who go to the trouble to get tickets only to sell them and make a profit should, in my opinion, be strung up by their soft dangly bits until they see the error of their ways or I'm in a better mood.

Always love your rants Graham - makes me feel less of a grumpy old git myself   Being strung up until you are in a better mood seems a harsh punishment though. On the other hand the robbing bar stewards deserve it. Add my vote to Plummys then.

Well I am glad to hear the Teignmouth Trio were up to scratch last week.
They looked good on the "Red Button"
I'm enjoying the new album and yes I did go on "the Bay" at the weekend and got some tickets for Birmingham
Cant wait !

The tout stuff is tedious but Muse only had 95000 seats for the whole country.
Getting the tickets in real time is a real lottery and secondary markets exists elsewhere in the world
Tickets are worth what people are prepared to pay for great nights out.

A work collegue paid over £200 to see The Eagles. I wouldn't do that but she had a great great night.

Alistair

PS Managed a 30 mins at the weekend which I must log but doing a lot of cycling at the moment

I'll be at the U2 360 tour next week in Charlottesville, VA USA -- birthday present for my long suffering wife
(it also returns the favor for her getting me tickets to David Bowie a few years back)
More eclectic (though reflecting my age):
Chris DeBurgh
Hootie and the Blowfish
Lighthouse Family
Eric Clapton
Mat Kearney
Rondo Veneziano
Sting
Tom Waits
10,000 Maniacs
Trout Fishing in America

Welcome to the Forum Derek - good to see a new name up here. I nice eclectic mix there and you score points straight away for saying "Lighthouse Family" rather than "The Lighthouse Family" which I believe they used to get upset about.

Happy to be here, scoring points and all. Plummy scores points for just being in the UK; my wife and I are Brit-wannabes and spend every holiday we can on the canals there.

Slow getting back on the erg as this is end-of-fiscal-year drill; first time in months yesterday--but felt good.

Time to lurk on the Peter Plan thread....

Oh dear I have a confession
I got my Muse tickets for Teignmouth on Ebay as I was just so desperate and there was no chance otherwise and I HAD to be there !!!!!
they went on sale just before 9am and within seconds were gone and 2 mins later on Ebay !!!! reason for that was there were only 10,000 for each night and majority of those were onsale at the boxoffice in Teignmouth itself-a flippin long way from Oxford ! but they were trying to give the locals a good chance to be there and see their local boys !! the local people were really supportive of the whole event which was nice tho obviously some of them were just out to make dosh out of us all -fair enough I say as a Devon girl anyway---theres not much money down that way is there and every little helps

bought them from a nice chatty guy who was very helpful as there was a postal strike and a bank holiday to complicate things but they arrived in nick of time and I wouldnt have missed it for the world- my only regret is we didnt go down there on Fri as well and just listen from outside on the seafront-instead we ate pizza in Exeter and watched the scanty clad girls tottering by on their way to the clubs !!!! maybe you lot wld have enjoyed that too -Mr Jr did tee hee hee

Don't worry JR, you're still my number 1. Both were excellent. Flo was vocally amazing but I enjoyed Mrs Bat more, a pounding drum machine and her pixie folkesque musings were very complimentary. First time I'd been to the Roundhouse. Classy joint and quite small so felt very intimate.

Got a late ticket and saw Revd and the Makers. Although very Kasabian like in terms of the front man they were very good.

Now if I can just get a couple of tickets for Muse at the O2 I'd forgo and Xmas pressies this year [-o<

Well I caught the Muse boys in Birmingham last week and it was a truly extraordinary show - songs. sound, lights video. One of the best ever

Finally took the plunge and saw Deep Purple at the LG in birmingham last Friday. Still well capable of rocking out and truly magical to hear that riff from Smoke on the Water live.

Back to work Wednesday and maybe some rowing too

and Bad Co at Wembley arena we had to resort to Ebay to get tickets -they played our song back in the 1970s so we HAVE to attend this gig !!!!!

went to see Yo La Tengo last night in concert. Mellow in parts with lots of feedback driven electric guitar in other parts.

One of their tunes:

was quite good, although my ears are still ringing.
