Re: Meterboard and the C2 update
C2 have dicked about with the page. They have added a column for the Winter challenge and it has mucked up everything If you look you can see that the countries have all gone South too.
Fixable, but not for a couple of days I fear unless I can do something magical right now.

Re: Meterboard and the C2 update
OK, I think it is fixed. I think they added a column for "location" that upset were I was looking for data.
But I am papering over the cracks here, so do post on this thread as soon as you notice the next thing.
And the first person who asks for a for the Holiday challenge will be deleted from the meterboard for a month! Just because it is on the main page now does not make it easier to handle.
I also realise that the message about OTE and OTW is now obsolete. But not time to fix that now.

Thomas thanks for all the on-going hard work! =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>
I had shot up to almost 100th and then realised it was because I had two mega-OTW rows in the log. I have deleted them to get my numbers back on track.

I think you should reinstate those OTW meters, Jon. Everyone else's OTW meters are being included, so why shouldn't yours?JonT wrote:Thomas thanks for all the on-going hard work! =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

It's a personal thing I suppose. I want to get in the top 100 on erg alone. I guess my challenge just got harder!Paul Victory wrote:

Re: Meterboard and the C2 update
Jon I had done the same a few years ago -- deleted my OTW meters from the C2 logbook. A prior iteration of the meterboard was lumping them together and it didn't feel right in the context of erging.
Once C2 and the first iteration of MeterBoard2 began separating the two types more clearly, I kicked myself for not having logged what would now be a few million more meters. But I feel the same as you, it's a personal preference issue.
Once the programmatic issue with the FS meterboard is fixed again maybe I'll reconsider what I track with C2. We'll see. For now I like knowing that the 5 million on my C2 pin are all for the C2 machine. And certainly I have no issue with anyone else having all types of meters (erg, slides, water, whatever else might come) included, temporarily or permanently -- it's all good!
And Thomas -- again -- thank you so much for your time. I won't be asking for a tree icon, can't risk banishment

Re: Meterboard and the C2 update
Is the meter board now on UTC time? All of my meters are showing up under the next day. Not a complaint, just a question. The site where I log my run/rides also uses UTC time, so time travel is not new to me I was just wondering, since the meter board used to be on US Eastern time.
It must be so annoying that C2 has changed the format, and it sounds like not the first time it's happened. Well done getting the meter board back up so quickly! =D>

Re: Meterboard and the C2 update
I've not consciously changed the time. It was always set to the time at Concept 2 HQ. Not sure how it could have changed!

Re: Meterboard and the C2 update
Peggy I had yesterday morning meters from erging at the lake, I logged them between noon & 1 pm pacific standard time (UTC/GMT-8). Those showed up correctly for 11/29. I then logged meters at home after 9 pm pacific, which showed up for today, 11/30... not correctly, but as expected.
I have a few more meters to enter today and will pay attention to the timing. They should be more in the window you're talking about.

Re: Meterboard and the C2 update
Yep - meterboard timing changed by several hours. Not a big deal, as Peggy says.
Meterboard shows my warmup entered as Tues 12/1, when I logged it at 5:30 pm PST Mon / 8:30 pm EST Mon / 1:30 am GMT Tues. Concept 2 logbook date is set at Mon 11/30 (default). Previously I would have had till 9:00 pm Pacific / Midnight Eastern to have the Meterboard show the workout same day.
Doesn't seem to impact much? Just a good to know.

Re: Meterboard and the C2 update
Thanks, Barbara. So far, everything from 11/26 forward is shifted to the next day. But the logbook and HM certificates have the correct dates, so it probably won't affect any Challenges.

Re: Meterboard and the C2 update
I have tried to fix this and would appreciate any feedback. I hope to have set it back to Vermont time (Eastern) which is UTC-5.
In other news, I have been approached by Concept 2 to beta test the new API (once written). This would give me much easier access to the C2 data and we could have OTE back Watch this space.

Wow! When Thomas talks, C2 listens!
I'll do a short row after my morning run, in addition to this afternoon's (slow) HM, and let you know how it posts.
Many thanks for your tireless efforts!!

My 1k-ish row showed up for Dec 1st, as it should. My HM will end after 5pm Mountain time, so that will be after midnight UTC. Fingers crossed

I seem to have disappeared completely from the Meterboard

Re: Meterboard and the C2 update
I've disappeared too! Oh dear. A bit disconcerting.
I've also disappeared from the Concept 2 Free Spirits Team page.
Have I been ejected for upsetting Plummy??
EDIT: I re-affiliated myself with the team and all is now well again. No idea what happened. I did change my Concept 2 profile photo (well I just stopped it being upside down), I wonder if that messed things up.

The HM posted for today, too. Your fix seems to have taken! No more time traveling to get my rowing in.

Re: Meterboard and the C2 update
Good. I think that one was not C2's fault. There was a recent update to the server software, and I think that it decided that it was on UTC for the end of day check. Thankfully, not too hard to fix. The hardest bit for this Brit was working out which time zone Vermont was in .

Re: Meterboard and the C2 update
That's interesting about people dropping off the meterboard. Maybe the revised layout of the C2 website makes it easy to accidentally delete your affiliation. I know I accidentally unranked one of my SBs the other day and had to reinstate it.
The reason I'm mentioning this is because I noticed that Martin Melchner, who was just above me on the Free Spirits meterboard, disappeared from the listing a few days ago. I clicked on his profile on the C2 honor board and he is still showing Free Spirits as his team. I wonder should I send him an email via the C2 website or does anyone on this forum know him, as I certainly don't want to hassle him if he has decided to leave the team for any reason.

Re: Meterboard and the C2 update
Paul - I'm pretty sure (but can never be certain) I dodn't do this by accident. It was quite odd. My profile said I was a member of Free Spirits, biut I wasn't showing in the team. On the team page it gave me the option to affiliate which I did and all was well again. I suspect a glitch which is kicking in when people update other parts of their profile (I changed my photo to stop it appearing upside down).
I did try an experiment and changed my home town in the profile to see if I left the team again, but that seemed to be ok.
There have been a few incidents of the entire board shotting up one place so I suspect others may be falling foul of this right now
