Meterboard 2 - bugs and feature requests

Where should the web site go - what should we do? Who has the time between rows?

I am so out of touch I needed to be reminded of those. I will add them to "the list" and please post on this thread again in a week or so if they don't appear.

Thomas, a gentle reminder that the Holiday Challenge completed on Chrismas Eve and the last date for entries was the 4th Jan, can you add an icon for it to the list.

Happy New Year,

My total meters for the year appear in today's column. This appears to have been triggered by the fact that I discovered that one of yesterday's workouts had been entered twice, so I deleted the second entry.

I'll be doing some erging later today and intend doing a higher total than the amount of the deleted entry. This would bring my total for the day back into positive territory. It will be interesting to see if this corrects the entry shown for today.

The overall total shown for the year to date is correct.

It is so long since I wrote that code I can't imagine what went wrong there! With the end of season looming I may have a look. Thanks for the donation by the way ;).

Hi Thomas

Thanks for doing that. My total meters for the season are correct, but my meters for either today or yesterday are overstated by 9,560m, as is my weekly total.

Yesterday, I rowed 13,578m in total, but my final row of 9,560m was entered twice, so the a total of 23,138 meters was recorded. I woke up around 5 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep, so I turned on my iPad. I noticed that my meters looked too high and saw that the same row appeared twice, so I deleted the second entry.

I'm not sure what cut off time you use from one day to the next, but either yesterday's total should have been reduced to 13,578m or I should have had a total of -9,560m showing for today. I rowed 10,459m today, which is what is now showing on the meterboard, but either today's total should be reduced by 9,560m or yesterday's total should be.

I guess it's my fault for having sleep issues. I got back to sleep about half an hour after I woke up, but I guess the damage was done by then.

I don't tick over, Concept 2 does. I don't actually store the daily metres at all, just the total at the end of each day. The day by day metres are calculated as the day ticks over, and will slowly sort themselves out. Hopefully.

Strange one, alright. The deletion must have taken place right on the cusp. Overall totals are OK, so I guess that's the important one.

I vaguely remember thinking "It would be really cool to have the ability to recalculate the daily and weekly totals if something went wrong. But that was as far as it got

Meterboard 2 - bugs and feature requests - Day rowed?

Post by at1839 »

I added today, April 25, a workout of yestarday to the C2 loogbook. The 'date rowed' field on C2 show April 24, but ends to April 25 on the meterboard ... strange :)

Hi Thomas

Will you be adding an icon for the Global Marathon Challenge?

Most likely I will, but will always need to be reminded. I can't front load the icons because you can't guarantee that c2 will use the same format next time.

I have tried front loading the Summer Solstice challenge - please let me know if it works on this thread after 21st June.

I note that for some people May 1st shows enormous numbers of metres. Not sure why that is. It will slowly slide off the meterboard list, but will still skew the graphs. I may have to delete all rows for the 1st May, but not sure of the implications.

Just letting you know I am aware. Post here if it is still a problem in a few weeks.

I think the problem only arises for those who didn't record any meters on May 1st.

Yes, that was my working theory, but I need to look at how to correct it. It might be if none on May 1st and rowed in May 2nd. New people appear OK?

I hope it is fixed now in the graphs - the big figures for 1st May will roll off the board tomorrow and all the maths should work out.

HI

It seems like that my daily mean on the meterboard is wrong. According to my calculations it should be 13,655 but is 11,202.
The total is right and every day as well. Would not have matter much but I was on a mission to reach the top 10, you know for motivation. :)

If total is right for you now at 145,638, and it is the 13th day (it is) then the average should be 145,638/13 = 11,203 (actually there is a rounding error so it appears as 11,202). How are you calculating the 13,655?
