Meterboard 2 - bugs and feature requests

Where should the web site go - what should we do? Who has the time between rows?

Had a brain storm today and nuked all rows ever. I restored from an 8 hour old backup...

I am having endless problems with how mysql handles apostrophes. It is driving me crazy.

Just whinging.

Looking at the meter board right now, you have appeared to have moved all this week's rows back a day and doubled up on today's erging.

My individual page and overall total seem to be correct. It's just this week's display that seems to be off.

I've no idea how that happened - I think I will have to leave it - it should sort itself out since it is always based on the total from the main site. There may be a blip in the rows today. You'll note that the days in to the season is now correct!

(I think I have worked out the problem; the previous 7 days rows are held in an array to speed up the display of the table - the restore may have broken that and it should sort out over the next week. There is nothing I can do about it without recreating those arrays individually from scratch which is another couple of hours of coding...

I need to spend time with the kids, so am stopping now.

Some of the website navigation bar links are incorrect. Are there two versions of the nav bar? Some point to the new meterboard, others show the old one.

If you are viewing the forum itself, the Meterboard link points to the new meterboard: http://www.freespiritsrowing.com/meterboard2/.

But try opening Utilities > PB Image Generator. The Meterboard link now points at http://data.freespiritsrowing.com/frees ... index.html

Ok, I'll look in to it later in the week (I'm away from pc for a few days). And yes keeping the menu consistent between meterboard, WordPress and phpbb3 is a bit of a nightmare :(

That should be fixed now - it is using the same menu as the meterboard.

Hi Thomas

Just wondering if you're going to put up an icon for the Summer Solstice challenge?

This is now done. Thank you for reminding me. I fear that with all the cycling I am taking my eye off the ball for rowing, so it is good that you remind me and this thread is the right place to do it.

Sorry but I believe there is another bug.

There is a pull down which allows you to select the previous season, instead of the current one. Only the rowed distances don't change. At least they don't change within my Firefox browser from two different computers.

That looks completely true. It was just experimental - it does show the completed challenges though! So something works.

Thinking about it, I think it was never going to work. I will add it to the to do list.

Thanks

Love the meter board! I find it very motivating to see how much everyone rows everyday.

Will there be an icon for the Dog Days Challenge?

There are a huge number of Free Spirits on the Honor Board! This is such an impressive group. ^O^

Hi Thomas,

i'v talked with David Plumb, he told me you were the guy to contact !

I'm one of the FIRT team captains, and I work with French Rowing Federation on a project that will help developping indoor rowing in our country.
One of the thing we are planing to do is set up a website that will promote the C2 logbook using and the online challenges (the logbook ones, but those like the CTC and nonathlon too).
If you are interrested, i will be pleased to tell you more details about it.
I've seen the freespirit site for a while, and I'm interrested by your fantastic meterboard and would like to ask you some things about it !
If you have some time for it, please send me an email : kevin.scott@live.fr

I hope we could exchange soon !

Have a nice day !

Best regards

Hi Thomas,

Not sure if you've noticed but all the Nov 2nd rows have disappeared from the metre board!

Weird. They may be added to the November 3rd ones. I was looking at something minor last night so may have broken it. The daily totals still appear to be in the personal log pages, so we'll just have to wait 6 days and pretend it didn't happen.

Thanks Thomas, you are correct the season total aligns with my Concept2 log and spookily Sunday's row appears in my Free Spirits summary data, I agree that in six days the issue will be as if it never occurred!

On an unrelated subject will there be icons for the Fall Team Challenge and the Skeleton thing?

Cheers,
Phil
