Meterboard 2 - bugs and feature requests

Where should the web site go - what should we do? Who has the time between rows?

I'm amazing. I did nothing! Hahahaha.

But it definitely was not working for me when I checked.

Hi Thomas
I have been trying to reach you via the channel that we used to communicate via, but no response. So trying once here. Would you have a chance to clean up the icons on the meterboard? I deleted the dog days challenge using the -1 and then added it again such that only those have the icon that completed all 4 weeks, but the traces of the old one are still around.

The metres for November 3rd seem to have disappeared (for that day) - although my season total appears to be correct??

I knew this, but no idea why it happened. Wait a few days and all will be well.

Saw this yesterday briefly but it disappeared quickly. Appears to be hanging around today

I can't recreate it Plummy, I thought it was to do with the site upgrade. I have tried various things. Can you provide steps to recreate it?

(I have added some code which might have fixed it too - so report back any new sightings)

Hi! It seems at the moment that everyone who rowed yesterday has got the same distance posted in today's column

I think it is a time zone issue. I always see it before 8am CET.

This “feature” has always been there. In the mornings (you are probably right with 8am CET) it always showed the meter from the day before for the day you check for everyone, the totals are correct though. And it fixes itself.

Could someone post a screenshot of this behaviour please.

Does it occur on both meterboard 2 and meterboard 3?

It’s not a big deal and as Tako meantioned, it sorts itself out. Checked this morning and the meter board 1 was empty and had only headings. The meterboard2 looked like this

Can I just clarify a couple of things:

- The meterboard that you now access from the main forum pages and website is Meterboard3. There is a link on that page to Meterboard2. Which of them did you see this on? Looking at the “gap” column I am guessing you saw this on MB2.

- And when you say the column was empty, do you mean that the column was there but had no results in it?

Thanks for taking the time to send the info

Thanks.

So the current day shows (mostly) yesterday's rows. But only on meterboard 2.

I'm guessing it is a timezone issue where mb2 does one thing at midnight on the UK then another at midnight on Vermont. When they catch up out sort itself out.

I tried to key mb2 off Vermont time (C2 HQ).

The image was from http://www.freespiritsrowing.com/meterboard2/

The meterboard linked on the forum menu was empty.

I can check again tomorrow.

I think you are right that the C2 page has trouble with requests for “tomorrow” 😎

I checked this morning and meterboard2 has the problem and meterboard3 is okay.

I had been using a bookmark for meterboard2 and didn’t notice it was out of date.

But.... meterboard3 links me to the wrong user. Meterboard2 gets the right user. I tried logging out/in without luck. My ranking id is correct in my profile. Do I have to set it somewhere else?

I'll look. What's your actual name on the meterboard

LATER: There was a stupid error on the individual page, but I fixed that and now all the ones I tested appear to go to the correct place?

This is what it shows for me right now. I’m “Allen H”. The gap is odd too...

Ah, that's a cookie issue I think.

I'm assuming you've done this, but could you report back what happens if you click yourself and then click this is me?

If that doesn't work try deleting all Free Spirits cookies (Google it - you'll need to log in again).

Let me know what works (or doesn't!).

Thanks. Clicking on “This is me” sorted it.

I’m curious. Why has the gap column been changed?
