Re: Meterboard 2 - bugs and feature requests
I just forgot to put it in.
JonT is going to add it in time. We're going to work on it together as part of him getting to know the ins and outs of developing for the meterboard.

Was at a loose end today (procrastinating and not wanting to dig the garden) so fixed the Gap Column issue.

For those of you who have forgotten (like I had). To get this working, you need to tell the Meterboard who you are. You can do this by clicking on your name on the board and then clicking the "This is me" button just above the profile image on the top right of the profile page.

We could add that as text above the mb3 I guess...

Re: Meterboard 2 - bugs and feature requests
Moving this discussion to this post.
This bug is a bit of a mystery. I am still digging. The Meterboard is updating correctly, and if I force the challenges to update they set the metres correctly, but for some reason the automatic update (which runs every four hours) isn't working at the moment. This would also explain why some Free Spirits didn't get a tree. I'm doing some more detective work in between a dozen other things.

The good news - Thomas' code was working perfectly.JonT wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 3:38 pmMoving this discussion to this post.

The bad news was the automated process that updates challenges has not run since we migrated to my server. This is now fixed (I think). Please flag if you think it is still not working.

Re: Meterboard 2 - bugs and feature requests
Hi Jon,
there seems to be a discrepancy with my C2 log and the meter board.
Log shows 931,622 so for some reason the mtb is giving me some extra meters
I'm not too worried about it, but thought you'd want to know (and I won't claim my 1M m until it actually happens )
Cheers, Steve

EDIT : just found one anomaly my end, but still seems out. 931,622 should be correct.Wolfmiester wrote: ↑Mon Nov 16, 2020 6:21 pm Hi Jon,

Steve - When I look I see 931,622 on Meterboard 2 and 3. Is it still wrong when you look?Wolfmiester wrote: ↑Mon Nov 16, 2020 6:23 pm Hi Jon,

Don't know why but I seem to have dropped off the meterboard completely.
I know I haven't rowed much this year but to expunge me complety seems a little harsh

Update - the good news is you are in the database, positioned 149th with 60,165m. The bad news is that you are not appearing on the board. I have no idea why...this thing is so, so complex. I'll keep digging. There is a field in the database which says you are "not active". I have to admit to never noticing this before so I will have to see if that is the problem and where that field is set and used.

Richard, you appear not to be affiliated to Free Spirits -> https://log.concept2.com/affiliation/13 ... ype=rowersRichard Lindner wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 4:45 pm Don't know why but I seem to have dropped off the meterboard completely.

This may well be the problem. Can you do me a favour and go on to the C2 logbook, edit your profile and see what it says on the Affiliation tab? If it doesn't say Free Spirits for some reason, can you change it and let me know?

Re: Meterboard 2 - bugs and feature requests
Jon, a couple of weeks ago I changed affiliation to a small group set up by some ex work colleagues. I didn’t realise this would remove me from the meterboard as I didn’t change the team I was in which was still FS. I’ve changed the affiliation back to FS and I’m back in the meterboards. Really sorry to have wasted your time. Thanks, Richard.

No problem Richard. Glad we sorted it out. As ever I learned something about how the meterboard works at the same time.

Re: Meterboard 2 - bugs and feature requests
May just be me, but it looks like a bunch of Skeleton Crew icons dropped off the meterboard since last I looked. I only see one (Collette L-L) right now in the top 50 rowers.

The skeleton crew icon is a bone. Are they missing in your view? The skull is the icon for the adaptive athlete version of the challenge.
Hopefully you can see lots of bones. If not, let me know.

Re: Meterboard 2 - bugs and feature requests
There is definitely something not quite right with the Holiday Challenge at the moment. The 200k double snowmen were all appearing until yesterday, when Ron spotted that his had not appeared. When the update runs automatically it seems not to be updating the 200k icons, but when I run the code manually the update is working.
Testing the automated code is painful because it only runs every 30 minutes. I have temporarily demoted Dwayne to a single snowman as part of the test.

- The meterboard in the development environment is working perfectly. Lots of double snowmen appearing automatically.
- When I manually run the update in the main site, missing 200K snowmen are created.
- This was all working until the last few days, and then the new 200K challenges stopped appearing in the meterboard. But I haven't changed anything (famous last words).
- The 100K is working as it should be. The two sets of icons are created using the same piece of code, so how can that be?

Re: Meterboard 2 - bugs and feature requests
Could the link to the C2 site, that the automated update uses, be wrong? Or are you manually just triggering the exact same script?
