I always use Google Chrome and I had no problem when I updated my 2k time earlier this week. After updating my time, I moved my cursor to the % box and the figure updated automatically.Gregor Andrews wrote:I've been using Chrome without problems when using this function.Thomas W-P wrote:<<Idly wonders if anyone else has the same problem with Chrome>>

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
My signature box does not come up - regardless of browser; I deleted all caches, re-started the browsers (firefox, chrome and safari) but to no avail.
Update: Ha - I used the link itself out of the source code page and not the tinyurl link from the generator - then it works!- and that did the job! This comes up when I post the tinyurl link:

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
Hmmmm. The tinyurl link is correct, and does show the image correctly, but is very slow. My signature uses the tinyurl one so I am not really sure why it is not working in your specific case. Weird.

Very odd. I've tried it on two machines and it is fine. Which browser/operating system are you using?

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
Hi Thomas. I think it's been resolved now. It was discussed in the beginners thread in the main forum.

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
Just a quick update from me on this. My sig hadn't been showing for the past wee while, changed to the http://www.freespiritsrowing.com/images/signatures version and now it's there. Something squiffy with the tinyurl?

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
Weird - the tinyurl works as a link
http://tinyurl.com/fsrsigs/fssig-2.png
But not as an image any more (as far as I can tell) - and you are right, replace
http://tinyurl.com/fsrsigs/
with
http://www.freespiritsrowing.com/images/signatures/
And it works fine. The tinyurl was to save space since there is limited allowance in the footers.

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
I've just updated the image generator to reflect my new 2k time and it's no longer appearing in my signature. If I click on preview on the image generator page, I can see the updated time. If I click on my signature and click on the option to see image in another tab, my old image appears. Very strange.

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
My guess is it is cached. Right click the image and do "view image" to see it on its own, then click refresh. That should fix it??Paul Victory wrote:I've just updated the image generator to reflect my new 2k time and it's no longer appearing in my signature. Yeah that happened to me as well. Opening and closing of the browser may help. It may also be ok after a computer reboot.

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
It is because I use the same name, so you don't have to change the signature code each time. The preview you see is a cheat, and is generated on demand with a unique name from what I remember. I had problems with caching when writing it from what I remember.

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
MontrealStan has been having problems with the sig generator. It does not recognise that he has logged in to the forum.
Has anybody else had this problem?
We should probably have worked on it here rather than email...

- The browser says PLEASE LOG IN TO THE FORUM, THEN CHOOSE YOUR SETTINGS although he is logged in to the forum
- he has tried a different browser
- it works fine for me if I log in as him!

We worked it out. He was logging in on the home page but that link is now obsolete and will shortly be removed.

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
I just noticed that I forgot to update my signature image when I improved my 500m time way back in June. So I updated it just now and saved it. But my old image is still coming up.

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
The image I see is dated 03 October 2016 15:14:32 so I think that it is working but your browser is caching the image maybe?
Try right clicking on the image, selecting View image (or equivalent) and then refreshing the page.
Cheers

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
I had the same problem. I tried deleting all the board cookies and clearing the cache. Nothing worked. And then one day my browser worked it out and everything was fine. Weird.Thomas W-P wrote:I think your browser just worked it out

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
Hah, the cache *should* have cleared it. But viewing only the image then refreshing the page has fixed it reliably for me. It is a hard one to code. I initially looked at making each sig have a unique file name like 2212120332fed8d8saae3.jpg but then you would have to change the link each time.
