Meterboard 2 - bugs and feature requests

Where should the web site go - what should we do? Who has the time between rows?

Hi Thomas - my friend Paul Findlay has just rung to say although he knows he's rowed 15km (and I can see him on the metreboard), he can't see himself at all and can only see the top 10. He's tried the logging out and in but can't think of why he can't see himself (to allow him to select "this is me" either)

Any clues?

I believe so (how does he check?). I can see his rows on the MB but he can't so the MB is picking up, it's just he can't see more than the top 10 of the MB no matter what he tries

Hmmmm. Not sure why that would be. Long time since I wrote it. Has he tried clearing out all the Free Spirits cookies?

I had the exact same issue and clearing cookies then logging back in let me see more than the top ten. After going back and setting "this is me" I can use turbo mode also.

I'm guessing the recent haitus has left the cookies in conflict. The meterboard might think he is trying to show top 10 and his position, but it has forgotten who he is?

Not sure if this is an MB bug, but here's the situation...

On May 14 (Madchester), I rowed ~7000 meters total. Because I used ErgData, a few rows done by others got picked up by my app and auto-synced to my C2 logbook... and synced to the Meterboard giving me 21000 meters for that day.

I deleted those extra rows a few days later.

Now I have strange amounts showing, I think on the days I did the deletions. I rowed 12000 meters today and those came in correctly.

Is there something I should do? The erroneous amounts are not in my C2 log, only on the meterboard.

I am currently at line 95 and the strange meters are may 16 and 17.

I can probably hack the meterboard and remove the metres for that day, but your overall total should be correct?

My total for 5/14 should be 7,231.

I should have nothing for 5/16 and 5/17.

Today's 12k is correct.

I don't know about the overall total I don't look at that.

Thank you!

That is fixed. For the daily rows in the meterboard they can usually be left to roll off after a few days. I clicked on you (nice picture!) and noticed that your daily metres are all over the place so fixed that too.

Well I'm thrilled I now know a hacker, it seems dangerously exciting. I may have some other requests for you involving bank accounts... ?

(yes, a joke)

Appreciate the quick fix Mr W- P!

Is there a reason why the meterboard groups all meters from between days rowed into the uploaded day. For instance, I've rowed two of the last three days but only uploaded my data today, and the meters on the meterboard are all summed against today.

When I look at the C2 page they definitely have the other dates recorded against the meters.

Or do I just need to upload my data to C2 everyday I row to get it split on the meterboard?

I can only get the day by day total since that is all C2 publish. So if you post 3 days in one go, they will appear as one row. The meterboard can only work this way.

So yes, you're right. Upload it daily to see it split up.

Hi Thomas,

A heads up that I seem to be missing the Summer Solstice challenge icon. You can see me on the C2 challenge Honor Board at http://log.concept2.com/challenges/sols ... ame&page=3

Thanks,
Lee

Weird - it misses Simon Butterworth on that page too - the first one it sees is Paolo Cecchini - I will look in to it.

The meterboard appears to have...disappeared. Is it just me not seeing it?

For confirmation, it's not rendering for me either.

Look like it cannot access the data base, as I can see the page and page render seems to work, but no names nor meters.
Confirmed by following: "Free Spirits have rowed 0 metres today.
Day 334 of the 2017 Season (31 days remaining).
Total metres: 0"

Concept2 had moved the league table I use to https:// rather than http://. Luckily my code could cope, I just needed to make that change.

I am a cyclist now and the erg gathers dust other than a 1k warm up in the gym each week. I don't come on here at all. I will turn over the meterboard again at the end of the season, but this may be the last time. Anyone want to take on the web site?

OK, so I have updated the software so that the deprecated stuff won't bring us to a sudden halt some time in the future. I have tested it quite a lot and it seems sound. I also think I have fixed the apostrophe problem. I will switch over to the new methods shortly and hopefully no differences will be noticed. As usual, post on this thread if anything untoward happens.

Hello Thomas
I appear on the meterboard and meters are updating correctly each day but when I click on my name instead of loading my page I get the following error message in the browser:

"Warning: require_once(mb2-mysql.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/freespir/www/www/meterboard2/freespirit.php on line 7
Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required 'mb2-mysql.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php56/lib/php') in /home/freespir/www/www/meterboard2/freespirit.php on line 7"

I've tried it on Firefox and Google Chrome with the same outcome so I'm hoping it's something in the database that you can fix.
[I'm currently at 115th having just done a 13,012 meter row today.]
Thanks
Rich
