I just got halfway with number 15. After 2 days of struggling with back after 3k this one felt ok, so went for an overall PB. Got it, 1:31:46.6, 9Secs faster than previous and 1min52secs than CBC PB. Well chuffed.

Thanks Juergie. What time do you start yours in the morning as you always have it done it seems before I get to work. Also if you are getting up early are you doing it on an empty stomach or eating first, and if you are eating do you leave it a bit to go down? Sorry for all the questions, still learning tips from all you guys and gals.

I get up at 4am, take a bite from the flapjack (450 calories per 100g, I actually order them from the UK) on my nightstand, get dressed and row. I eat a little something because I got a bit nauseous towards the end of the first HM I did. When I‘m only rowing one hour in the morning, I don‘t eat anything before. Takes a little bit of getting used to, though.

Hi, my name is Juergen and I'm a rowaholic. I'm a HM junkie. In the last 30 days I did 30 HM. Can't go longer than 24 hours without a fix. I thought, I have it under control and can stop whenever I want to. But I can't. Have to go on.

45 HM in 45 days. Pretty sure, I will not do that again. And please remind me of my promise if I'll ever try something stupid like that again. 30 would be cruel enough, but no, I had to go for 45. Ambition is something good, but not if taken to the extreme.

That is truly awesome Juergie. I failed the challenge. I managed 27 (and a half lol). If my back would have held up I was easy going to finish it but it flared up on 22 and it was a really struggle to get the last few done until it buggered up again. Next year I will take extra breaks BEFORE I do to much and injure myself. I'm still happy with what I did.

Rather than start a new thread (as the Challenge is very specific and quite niche) - Crazy Bear 2019 starts on November 10th.

It's the same format as last year with entries for ergo (must be a full HM), SkiErg (must be a HM) or BikeErg (must be a FM) with the challenge to try and complete 30 in 44 days. It has it's own website this year www.crazybearrowing.co.uk

Not that I'm planning to do that many, but I think HM or longer is acceptable for the erg,

Never said I was doing it (I didn't do it last year!). Just giving it a bit of air for any others that might be interested. I still can't get to 10k to a HM isn't going to happen any time soon! :(

Well I've gone a little crazy and signed up for this. Not sure how many will be achieved. I already do 10 or 12k a day so I am hopeful of getting the 30. 5 a week should see it done. My poor butt is feeling it already. If I set the distance to a FM so that concept see it as a FM, does that count as 2?

Thanks, Lesley

Thanks Plummy

I need a FM to complete the nonathlon score set :). I was planning one before Christmas but not if I'm being crazy, hence the need for concept to see it as a FM. I better do it early as well I think in case the old body gives up on this :)
