This was a fully booked session for over a week. All 16 showed up, but Chris Whale could not get his PM3 to talk to his PC, so we lost him before the start. I thought the other 15 started successfully and 14 finished according to oarbits, so all and all only loosing 2 on a session this big is about as good as can be expected.

Bjorn Stenheim 35:05.1@1:45.3
Gregory Cook 35:47.3@1:47.4
Jason Hewitt 36:13.2@1:48.7
Douglas Gormley 36:57.1@1:50.9
David Chmilowskyj 37:04.6@1:51.2
Lee Winslow 37:06.1@1:51.3
Mike Podolsky 37:26.1@1:52.3
Ernie Parizeau 37:45.6@1:53.3
Steve Viney 39:04.3@1:57.2
William Docter 39:21.7@1:58.1 R30
Paul Brandon 40:07.3@2:00.4
Raoul Wiart 40:57.3@2:02.9
Juergen Schaefer 42:12.1@2:06.6
David Moores 42:17.5@2:06.9

I was aiming for the first half just to get sub 40, but negative split past half way as I thought I could do better. Ended up doing a lot better than I expected set new SB's for 5k,6k,10k, and 30' in the session and added 95 nonathlon points.

Unfortunately, I managed to pull my back in the final sprint with just 21m to go. #-o Had the presence of mind as I was collapsing on the rail to get two 1 arm pulls in to cross the line as I supported my body with the other arm. The last 3 splits I saw according to rowpro were 1:37,1:50, and 2:12, had I been another 100m from the finish when this happened I would have had to handle down. 1175 strokes and I have to botch #1173  . One things for sure, can't blame an inadequate warmup. Feeling ok now although not quite solid -- am definately going to have to take a couple of rest days and forego speed intervals for a week or so. :(

Well done all on the session :fswink:

Good session there Bill, your form is returning very nicely.
You need to take the freespirit symbol away from Jason though, sadly he is no longer with us.

Is RowPro really so unreliable? I'm considering stumping up the dosh but I have seen a number of comments about its reliabilty. I can imagine it must be more than a little frustrating if the session drops just as you get into your stride or even worse, as you're anticipating celebrating your winning sprint finish only to find you're down as DNF :!:

In a session of 16, it would be exceptionally lucky if we did not lose 1 or 2 at the start has been my experience. Even that being the case and having been left at the dock a few times myself, the other 85-90% of the time when it works is worth it IMHO. Its not just Rowpro I think in all fairness. Chris could not get his PM3 to connect to his computer which is a USB problem rather than a Rowpro problem, and then there is the matter of shoddy internet service that drops out occasionally on some of us in the middle of a row. It should not be a total loss even if you crash because your alternative would have been to workout alone anyway. Another rather twisted bright side is the anger of being dropped has driven me to at least 1 PB... Even if the online session drops you, your local rowpro and PM still record your row, so you will still be able to finish the race solo and have the data to post your PB and upload to your C2 logbook. Just make sure on the 1 hour+ rows you disable the automatic sleep feature on your PC :fswink:

I have to say I'm in the very pro camp.
Although I have witnessed several drop outs, I've never been dumped myself.
Whether that is because I have run a LAN cable to my rowing pc, so that the t'internet is pretty stable, I don't know.
However, whatever the teething trouble it's very much worth the investment.

OK - a couple of very positive comments. Thanks guys.
I think I'll download the evaluation version on Friday so I may try it out over the weekend. It will also be a good test for my wifi... Now, should I join a gym a bit closer to home? (only kidding :) )

Post a thread to let us know when you plan to do a session. More than likely someone from the forum will join you schedules permitting. Of course I will be choking on your dust
