Recovery row for me, around 14K, only 2 places left if anybody's at a lose end.

It was a very steady row, until the last 5 mins where Andy B thought it would be funny to come at me like a train and I had to pull 1:39's to hold him off
In truth it was great fun, he had a nibble at me about 15 mins to go, I put on a short sprint and I could see him give up, I then made the mistake of forgetting all about him and suddenly he was within 10m with a couple of mins to go.

I would have joined you but I only spotted the event with 5 minutes to go and that didn't give me time to set up/warm up etc.
In honour, I did an hour a bit later and managed 14680m
Andreas Van Tonder - he's a bit good!!

Nice one Dave(x2).
Met Andreas Van Tonder at the SA champs - he is one very powerful athlete - he is about 6'2" and 100kg of muscle - he did a 6:17 at altitude(reckoned to be equivalent to about a 6:08/9 at sea-level) - fortunately for me he competed in the Open event(otherwise I would have been out of the medals) - he has won BIRC and Crash-B's quite a few times as well - like all the really top guys he is very approachable and willing to give advice.

I should say, one of my big targets is a 15K hour, imagine a lifetime achievement, only to be 1800M behind the race leaderpaulgould wrote:Met Andreas Van Tonder at the SA champs - he is one very powerful athlete - he is about 6'2" and 100kg of muscle - he did a 6:17 at altitude(reckoned to be equivalent to about a 6:08/9 at sea-level) - fortunately for me he competed in the Open event(otherwise I would have been out of the medals) - he has won BIRC and Crash-B's quite a few times as well - like all the really top guys he is very approachable and willing to give advice.
