Rowpro Beta 6k Sat Aug 2 13:05 GMT--COMPLETED

Post by badocter »

I saw someone had a session set up, and since I'm scheduled to do a mid-long distance hard session today anyway figured this is as good a time as any to attack my 6k. Current participant list:

Michael Benvenuto
William Docter

Anybody else?

Ended up being in a group of 3 today, and it was a good row.

Paul Bryson 21:56.5 (1:49.7)
William Docter 22:09.2 (1:50.8 ) PB :D
Michael Benvenuto 23:54.5 (1:59.5)

My plan going in was 1:51, and I must say I was tempted to try to keep pace with Paul, but was nervous that it would put me over the edge and kept the discipline to stick to plan. 1k splits

Code: Select all

dist time pace spm
1000m 3:41.6 1:50.8 28
1000m 3:42.1 1:51.0 29
1000m 3:41.9 1:51.0 29
1000m 3:42.0 1:51.0 31
1000m 3:41.7 1:50.8 32
1000m 3:40.0 1:50.0 33
22:09.2 @ 1:50.8 R30 DF 120 for a 20.7 second improvement. :D Sticking to plan ended up being the smart move as I did not even pull his average in the final 1k push to the end, so pretty sure would have blown up if I had tried to stay with him.

Solid 6k there, Bill. Your steady improvement is very impressive. Makes me jealous, I find myself trying to catch up to last year and now that I'm 45 I'm not at all sure I can. But I like the chase, I figure even if I can't catch last year I'm still keeping myself in better than average shape.

Thanks Alan and Kirby.   Better than average Kirby? I think you need to take another look to where you are on the C2 rankings on the 5k, 30', and especially the 60'. Why didn't you rank your HM and 10k which I know are also outstanding?

Superb 6K Bill, I was going to join in but still busy trying to row off the excess fat. 20 seconds is a huge improvement =D> =D> =D>

All my PB's are around the 40% matk on the C2 site, I kind of thought that made me average, it now appears not
