Rowpro 10K Thursday 1740GMT COMPLETED

Post by kingy2 »

I've set up a 10K for tomorrow night on Beta, sorry if it's a bit early for some but I'm a bit tight for time.

I hope to get my first sub 40min in but who knows. I'm thinking if others are there I'll be less likely to whimp out. Any pace welcome.

Dave,
I'll try and join you for this.
I'll check on Oarbits, but you might want to clarify on this thread if its 18:40 GMT or BST?

#-o #-o #-o #-o It's supposed to be 18:40BST, but now you mention it I may have cocked up

Can't check now as I'm at work and you can't use beta via the web site. Could somebody have a look for me please.

EDIT Ok I've set the wrong time so will change it tonight when I get home, I will be rowing at 17:40GMT 18:40BST, would be helpful if nobody signs up for this before I get a chance to change it.

Since we did speed work yesterday it seems only proper to do endurance work tomorrow. I'm in.   Looks like a lot of sessions are moving to the beta server :D

I've registered and posted an announcement on the C2 UK forum. Pete said he should be there and I see Frank Knight has just registered.

ps. Dave you need to update that 2k time on your Oarbits profile

Erm, all change again, I'm in.
Dave, I'd be happy to pace you to a 39:59.x. Even 1:59.8 splits all the way.
See you in the chat room.

Great you can make it Wolfie,

If you did that it would be great but feel free to run your own race if you wish. I know how easy it is to get carried away with these on line sessions.

Well, we had 6 at the checkin, but we lost Pete and Frank at or near the start :( At least we did not lose Dave  Well the four of us that remained got a good row.

Dave King 39:42.7 PB -mission accomplished sub-40 =D> =D>
Steve Smith 39:40.6 (paced Dave - great assist and kudos for teamwork)
William Docter 38:12.3 PB
Jonathan Turns (Sub 7) 37:54.1

Great rowing with you all as always

Have to say I really, really enjoyed that.
I got a good workout concentrating on keeping 1m in front of Dave if I could. Great to help someone reach a goal, but all the praise should go the Dave for knocking a whopping 40 odd seconds of his PB. Looking at his new 2k & 5k times earlier I questioned whether it was on. Looks like your other times need re-visiting already Dave  :D

Bill did brilliantly to PB again, considering he was racing on his own really. Great run of form Bill.

Fair comment although my 5Kwas actually a split from my 30mins and it was my 30min PB that I thought predicted this should be doable.

Great row Bill, you're on fire. Shame you had no real race but it must be fun sat back watching the rest come home. he was rubbish at the cool down btw

Even when there are large gaps fore and aft, I still find it motivational that everyone else is working hard. I kept looking at your splits and was aware that you were on target throughout. Rubbish on the cool down?
