Rowpro Beta 2.205 - 2k - Tuesday 18:30 GMT -- COMPLETED
The new beta was released yesterday and they are itching to have us kick the tires. A 2k is scheduled for Tuesday 18:30 GMT. I have been needing to make that sub 7 attempt, so I am in. 4 are registered so far and the beta can handle races with up to 16 participants !!! If you need to get in a 2k test, this would be a good time
Digital rowing would like us all to be using the newest Beta 2.205 for this race, so be sure to get it installed !!

Hope to see some of you there.

Re: Rowpro Beta 2.205 - 2k - Tuesday 18:30 GMT
It's all installed, I'm too scared to join in on the 2K because they hurt too much and I'm not sure I want to know how poor my 2K is.
I've got a 10K starting in an hour (on beta) if anybody's about, will be nice and gentle for me as I'm a bit sore from yesterdays HM.

Just to add, the beta worked well (although I was on my own) The start system seems better.
My only gripe is that you can't view your projected finish time. You can, if you wish view your average pace by hitting the 'change unit, button. The 'change display' button appears to be disabled.
Oh, I also have problems uploading my times, I've posted the above on the Beta forum.

Re: Rowpro Beta 2.205 - 2k - Tuesday 18:30 GMT
Dave -- I think if you disable the "show relative meters" checkbox on User settings you will get back the display you want -- I will try it tonight on a test session. I did a 2k cooldown online yesterday to test some of the features, and yes, the start menus look a lot better and have the advantage that you look like you can still chat if needed. They are really still testing the system, so even if you are not intending to do a full out 2k I would not let that put you off - give us all a little more practice figuring out how the new system works.
Current lineup for Tuesday:
William Docter
Gerard Robinson
Tom Zalmstra -- Dutch Rowpros

Well I was planning a mile at 1:40 so what's another 391m?
I will look in to it.

Come on Dave -- you know you want too I just did a 100m "quick row" just now to test how the race dialog works and confirm that unchecking the "show relative meters on lower half of PM" tick box on the user settings menu puts the PM back to normal showing estimated finish time - it does, so just change your option setting and give it another test.

Grrr, ok, but only to help test the system. I'm not gonna PB, I'm not, I'm just not. A nice steady 8mins I think, will be interesting to see how it looks with over a dozen rowers.badocter wrote: Come on Dave -- you know you want too
What do we think, 2d or 3d view?

I have not 100% decided which view to go with, but I am leaning toward 2-d (90% probability). If I do 3-d, I won't use broadcast camera work as if I am close to passing somebody or they are close to passing me I don't want the camera panning away to one of the other 11.

Good luck for tonight guys, I reckon Bill and Dave are definately heading for PB's (even though Dave says he's gonna take it steady) and Thomas, it'll be interesting to see if the rest from doing continuous nearly flat out 1000m sprints for 40 days will give you some extra power, especially over the mile. Gerard not sure what you are hoping for but am sure you'll be pulled along by the event itself at the very least. Really looking forward to seeing the results =D>

To those who bullied and cajoled me into this..... thank you.
I'm sure Bill will be here with the full results before long, I'm off for a spot of tea.
