Rowpro CTC 30' Monday June 16 18:30 GMT : Completed

Post by kingy2 »

As it was a great success tonight I'll be up for another one either Tuesday/Wednesday next week or the following week. That way we may avoid Wolfie pulling away on his own [-X (his words not mine)

Anybody else interested and if so, when is best for you? It would need to be between 18:15 and 19:30 for me.

Remember you can still join in if you're less than 6' :?

Probably a bit too soon for me but I will definitely be up for one in a couple of weeks.

Too soon for another another CTC 30' attempt for me -- but I probably will try again near end of month. Jainser, Plummy, and Zaphod expressed interest in the last one but missed it, so they might be a good bet for next week. You are also bound to pick up some non-FS competition if you schedule it 4 days or so ahead (you soundly beat two of the three guys in the overflow session last night even if you could not see them ).

Also, for clarification, do you mean GMT or BST on the times you are suggesting?

For some reason last nights race is now listed for Friday and the results list is missing :? Perhaps Digitalrowing is trying to troubleshoot why we could not get an 8th in last night ? I no longer seem to own the session so I can't delete it, but in any event I am not rowing another hard 30' tonight. :fswink:

Just to clarify I was thinking 18:15 to 19:30 BST ie 17:15 to 18:30.

I'd like to try again and see if I can manage my first online row :)
I can make it monday or tuesday next week - I am travelling the rest of the week so won't be able to make an online session those days.

Due to a change at work this week I'm not going to be able to make Monday or Tuesday :( . I've set one up for Monday week at 19:30 BST if anybody is interested.

Ok - I'm in for that session.

Since we have a date and time now, could you rename this thread 'Rowpro CTC 30' Monday June 16 18:30 GMT' -- it will help us keep things straight. Thanks much for setting up the session and looking forward to breaking 8k.

7.30's too late for me tonight, but I think it's great what you are doing. Generating a lot of interest and inter-team bonding.
Have a good one!

Yoweee !!! A great session tonight, though had some technical problems getting the race started. We had seven, but when we finally got going had only 6... The software is not perfect, so if you ever get dropped at the start, shrug it off and take your anger out on the erg in solo  (been there, done that)

Anyway, once we got started, it went well (if you can call legs on fire "well" that is... )

Andrew Mudge -- 8337m(1:48.0) -- Sub7 IRC
Jonathan Turns -- 8061m(1:51.6) -- Sub 7 IRC

Dave King -- 7694m(1:57.0) PB
Joe Keating -- 7595m(1:58.5) -- Paddypower IRC
Gerhard van der Meulen 7378m(2:02.0) -- Dutch Rowpros

It was a whole lot of fun again. I felt I did Stan an injustice by not getting closer to his PB  but having PB'd on the hour of power yesterday I did better than I hoped. Nice to not be last for once. In case anybody's interested splits were...

1:56.9
1:56.5
1:57.7
1:57.5
1:56.0

Actually Dave I meant sort the pbs out which are low in comparison to your 30 minute piece. You really should be much closer to mine now. Why am I encouraging you #-o :D
Great progress Dave- you really are looming large in that rear view mirror.

Stan, I'm now picturing you in a strange boat that has rear-view mirrors - a sort of vespa hybrid thing and wondering if your times would be better in a normal boat?

I think both yourself Dave and Bill and just putting in some stonking sessions of late and are a great influence on the team as a whole! =D> =D> =D> long may it continue
