Back on the points for meeting others TWP and myself put these 'ruff' rules together

For FS'ers based in UK:

Meeting anyone in the home countries - 1 point
Europe - 2 points
Across the atlantic - 5 points
Other side of the world - 10 points

"brucie" bonus point for and away meet (Per person) So for example john gets 4 extra points from last night

Still early stages as we have to sort out similar rules for folks who live elsewhere.

TWP suggested a continent point system?

I do think that points can be back dated however and I think the away point is a good idea as well.

Know there a few more details here to sort out but could be good fun

Not sure if Web cams could count or not, If so, game on as I can bag Paul S and Derrylad !!!

webberg - I just got straight on the train. I was still a bit lairy this morning and struggles a little with my year 10s!

But when the Channin/Jain combination gets going I fear you need to don the tin helmet.

I thought the rules were:

1) Your country = 1 point
2) Neighbouring country = 2 points
3) Not 1 or 2 but in your continent = 3 points
4) Neighbouring continent and not 1, 2 or 3 = 5 points
5) Two continents away = 10 points

Bonus point for "playing away" i.e. being the one who travels.

I think was also said that there was a bonus point if you are both in Free Spirits kit and had photographic evidence.

And I think any face to face meeting counts - including races. We want to encourage support!

I really like that new board idea - points for meeting FSers...
We have photographic evidence of the first? second? ever transatlantic FS meet in Princeton, NJ - present were Wolfie, Peter T. and myself! (We had a good time; unfortunately, my beer intake was limited by the real world duties like driving and having to go to work the next day :(
Hope the plans for that feature if the board mature fast!!

Don't forget the kids - 2 more for my babes.

N.B. I forgot to say that we decided that blood relations don't count.

In rough order of meeting...
1 - Mike C
1 - webberg
1 - gooner
1 - plummy
1 - Mash
4 - jainser + wife + spuds
1 - bangers (BIRC)
1 - Nick Shuker (Newark)
2 - johnglynn - BIRC
1 - BigWaveDave - SLIRC1 - gooner
1 - plummy
1 - MaxDev

16

+ kit points if we are doing that - do they count if at a race when kit is likely. Maybe that should only be away from races.

And yes, good idea. Splitting this off.

Looks like I am lagging behind with just 3 points for meeting Paul Sims, Mike Channin, and Jacques Malaprade. Hopefully I will pick up some more points at Evesham.

Hello Paul

I think you would get 2 points (one for myself and one for Mike), as it was a home race .

But the rules don't seem to have been nailed down yet, so that could change .

(edit)

Just read TWP's post below, so you'd have 3 overall

1 for john (your country), 2 for mike (neighbouring country).

Mike would get a bonus point for meeting you since he was "away".

Do I get any bonus points for witnessing Race Debuts?
How about bonus for having seen fellow FSers in cheerful state after several drinks? (You know who you are!)

I'm not liking myself for even typing this  ... didn't realise I was so anal... until now #-o . Question is, what are the rules for an "Neighbouring continent", and what's two continents away?
Europe is obviously linked to Asia, & Africa.
Does that mean North America & South America are also neigbouring as they are only separated by water? :)
And what would you do if you went on a round the world trip, visited the US first, then went to Japan. Japan is in Asia, but it would be your second continent :D Thankfully I'm smiling now and laughing at myself, I must leave work and go home for something to eat.
I think we should just have the same rule for "another continent" otherwise we'll turn ourselves inside out trying to work out the correct score :D
