Site (T-shirt?) logo poll

Post by Thomas W-P »

I have been playing around with the logo on the site, thinking what might make a nice, low key (less is more - thanks to Gooner Neil) logo.

Which do you prefer?

I liked the logo of the erg with the globe on it and the ghost rowing.

I think I would go for 1. Don't see the reason to peddle the website - just the idea.

The .com was just to show we are an internet team really. Not an effort to sell the web site.

You could add VRC/IRC to the end but not everyone would know what IRC/VRC stood for.

I went for number 2.

I prefer just having just one font, with the text all at the same level.

What happened to our wee rowing ghostie? That damned object of our obsession must be in there somewhere...

Strongly disagree, without the website what are we? We are a virtual team so by definition without a website we have no identity whatsoever.

I went for 5

I agree with jonboorman in that it's a good idea to promote the website

On the globe/ghost, does anyone have the art skills to create a version ?

Promoting it

Post by PSims »

I include the web site address in all mail shots I send out inviting people to join us. I also send a Welcome message when people join reminding them about it and what goodies it has in it ESPECIALLY the Daily Meters (Thomas note I got the spelling!) Board.

Some of our older members may not know about the site - when I get all the email addresses, I will send out a message, but it's getting hard to track down 105 people!!! Hint: Michelle!!!

I would also like the web URL on the T-shirt with a "Join Us" type message - so people can see it and may get interested.

Other thought was Business cards left around the rowers/in gyms.
People can pick them up - they would have the web site on which answers all of people's questions.

But I want my T-Shirt with the ghostie....(stamps foot)...but don't have the graphics skills!

On the Meter board, does it only work after office hours (GMT).
I've tried it multiple times the last few days but only get a "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at http://www.flugsvamp.com:8080. . The same thing happens in Internet Explorer.

I hada thought about this.

1) plain T-shirt in web site "olive" and green/orange text.
2) (when we find the artist!) a printable logo - you can get iron on transfer kits and people can make their own T-shirt...

Thoughts?

Whilst a lot of people are going for the "already a classic" web site logo, it seems that the majority want the web site on the logo somewhere...

I will wait a bit then have a play off between the top two.

I wonder what th eghost looks like. I think I prefer a combination of website name and some kind of ghostimage or whatever.

This is the mock up of the logo. Still looking for someone with artistic talent to put it right...
