Virtual Team Challenge

Post by JonT »

Just a reminder that the Virtual Team Challenge starts tomorrow. You need to register with the team ( https://log.concept2.com/team) for your meters to count towards the team total.

We finished 12th last year, which I think is lower than we would normally finish.

The short IRL and CTC events this month aren’t going to help 🤦🏼‍♂️

If I get some time I will recycle the Fall Challenge tool so we can track how we are all doing.

Challenge tool is almost complete, with a few minor improvements along the way. I couldn’t resist.

The tool is now up and running - http://freespiritsrowing.com/challenges/vtc_teams.php

As I write we sit in 12th position, but some of the "big guns" seem to have stopped logging meters lately and are also not registered a team members for the challenge.

Let me know if you find any bugs in the pages.

Thank you, Jon!
Could you please run the meterboard snowflake icon script again? For some reason, Kevin and my snowflakes have not appeared yet.

The snowflakes are back up and running Peggy. Apologies, the script wasn't set up properly and had stopped working once the Concept2 log for the challenge went over a single page. It should be working automatically for everyone now. #-o

It is something that Thomas built in at some point. You get a hat if you row on 24/25/26th Christmas. As far as I remember, any distance counts.

I can't row - too much core involved - but I have started some gentle bike erg. Metrees are being counted for this challenge, I just have to do twice as many :)

Where there is a will to move there is a way.

Claudius, out of interest, do you have to row for that team to row in Zwift?

Hi Jon

Are you sure your calculations for predicted distance are correct - we are only on day 14 of 31, so less than halfway but your predictions look to be based on an end date of 20 Jan or thereabouts?

For example : my 158279 metres should be predicted 350474m - (158279 x 31)/ 14

I’ll take a look Paul.

[EDIT - Yes you are right. It was using the projected meters you will row from today, rather than the projected meters you will row in total. This should be fixed now. Thanks for pointing this out  ]
