I'll be doing my 2k on the 6th JonJonT wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 7:07 pm Don't knock it Louise. You're adjusted score is our second highest. Kevin gets the honours for the highest unadjusted score.![]()

Thanks to all who have put in a distance![]()
. We now have 9/10 scores entered and our "rightful" place is restored with a score around 93. Will Colin put in a time I wonder?
Horror of the 2k test next month. I haven't done a single 2k for ages, so it will be interesting to see how I get on. Onwards and upwards, and thanks again for all of your efforts

Sorry to hear that Louise.Shmoo wrote: ↑Wed Feb 24, 2021 8:50 pm Lads, it's looking increasingly like I'm going to let you down this month. I pulled a muscle in my back a couple of weeks ago and it appears to be healing at middle-aged lady pace (rather than the superfast speed I anticipated in my fantasy world where I am still young and fit!). I may have a very slow time from some 2k reps at the start of the month, but that's likely all I can offer. So sorry... Louise
If it's any consolation at all - you are still 30 secs quicker than me
I decided to have a go anyway. Even slower than I expected at 8:29.5 (my final interval in the CTC was 8:37.6) and my adjusted time is by far the slowest of the 9 results scored by team members this month. To be honest, I think the handicap system is a bit crazy and even if I was quite fit and doing decent times, it would be very hard for me to achieve a decent adjusted score. C'est la vie!Paul Victory wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 5:33 pm I was going to do the challenge today if we didn’t have 8 entries for this month, but I see that I’m off the hook. Given that I’ve only been on the erg once this month (and that was two days ago to do a very slow CTC), that’s probably just as well!![]()
Maybe starting with the 6k and building to the 10k is just the motivation you need to get a bit of your old fizz back Plummy.plummy wrote:I think I've managed 1 x 10k and 1 x 60 mins this season. Generally, my spirit to continue on starts to wane rapidly at a bout 15 minutes so 10k is going to be a major effort to complete it.
Is that a 10K I see on the Meterboard Mr P?
Would you believe it - yes! Managed to get to about 18 minutes without thinking of quitting so pretended I was starting my row at that point. Can't say I enjoyed it but got it done and a score is on the IRL. Thank you for spotting it.
Yes I can believe it Plummy, because you are a 40m meter rower! But 10K is not an easy distance when you are short of mojo, so that's a good effortplummy wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 12:07 pmWould you believe it - yes! I think you might struggle to get going again for another 4k straight after the CTC
Unfortunately Iain, there is talk of this being the last IRL. The guy who runs it is struggling to give it the time I think. But if it does run next year I will try to get a call out sooner.Iain wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 5:26 pmI think you might struggle to get going again for another 4k straight after the CTC, good luck all. Annoyingly I was not on the Forum when this came up so missed registration. I intend to have a go at 10k this month as my SB is soft and I am only 1 nonathlon point below my best ever. In the future, if you have heard from me in the previous month or 2 and there are any spare places, i would like to get signed up for this, although I am struggling to find that much time I am determined to try and keep some training going.
