Indoor Rowers League 20/21
I just realised the league has started. Is there any interest? Does anyone fancy organising one or more teams?

I’m happy to participate, although I’ve not much to offer on current form. I’ve also been asked asked if I’d like to take part in the Diamonds team, so will join them if we already have a Free Spirits team, or have no vacancy for me in a team.

There are 8 vacancies for you in the team Paul!Paul Victory wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 8:24 pm I’m happy to participate, although I’ve not much to offer on current form. There doesn't to be much interest at all given the lack of replies, so I would jump on another team of I were you.
It's a bit of a shame really, but there you go.

It is a series of events (one per month) that you can enter as an individual or team of 8. We normally have a team entered and it is a good way to have an additional focus each month. But the deadline for the first event is the end of the month.
You can always enter as an individual. The event this month is a 4 minute row.

This appears to have come round very quickly, then again, this year has been very strange. Although a lot slower these days, I'm happy to throw my hat in the ring towards a team of 8.

A bit late, have been too far away from my C2 the first half of the month, but would be willing to participate. Already finished a 4 min row yesterday, 4 meters less then last year, so that part is covered.

... a flat out 4 mins before close of play on Wednesday.
I've just done my first "sprint" in weeks and weeks. Managed 1065m (1079m was my SB last year) - I might have another go on Tuesday on more rested legs.

Re: Indoor Rowers League 20/21
For those that are interested. You just need to go to the Indoor Rowers League website, create a profile if you don;t have one, and then set Freespirits as your 8on8 team name.
Now, can I summon up the willpower to do a sprint before the end of the month?!

Louise, you can join the team by registering with Indoor Rowers League and setting Freespirits as your 8on8 team in your profile.

Your score isn't showing Plummy. Did you enter it on IRL?

Re: Indoor Rowers League 20/21
I hadn't put my score in as we haven't got a team as such yet. I've done it now but the team needs a major re-shuffle and I don't know who's in charge of that (I think it was Peter last year?)

Re: Indoor Rowers League 20/21
Yes, the team is a mess, but I can't figure out how to change members. Is it the case that you can have more than 8 names and the highest scores count? If not we need someone to free up some seats.
[EDIT - I just found the rules. 10 rowers per boat with the best 8 counting]

Re: Indoor Rowers League 20/21
Andrea will definitely not be available for the first couple of months -so as you say, we need a couple of seats freeing up very quickly. No idea how it's done?

Re: Indoor Rowers League 20/21
Looking at the thread from last year, Peter organised this. It looks like people have to suffer their seat from the boat. Do we want to create a new one and join that one instead? Anyone have a better idea?

Re: Indoor Rowers League 20/21
OK. I have created a new team "Free Spirits 20-21".
To make sure that transferring between teams works I entered a dummy score within Free Spirits and then switched teams by editing my profile. This seems to have worked fine.
So, I suggest people that are interested in participating switch teams to Free Spirits 20-21. I don't think we will have more than 10 people interested, so I suggest we just do it on a "first come, first served" basis. If we have more than 10 we can always use the original Free Spirits team as an overflow.
I hope everyone is OK with this.

I've signed in for the 8
No idea how to post a time yet but hopefully I'll work it out
Off to plan how the hell I'm going to fit a 4 minute blast into my plans
Especially as I've got a 5k ctc to do still

I’ve just joined the re-named team.
Thanks, John, for organising this. I am now no longer battling on my own!

Welcome aboard Kevin. You can log a distance using the Enter Results option on the menu on the right hand side of the Indoor Rowers page. It isn't the easiest user interface in the world I'm afraid.Kevinhorne44 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 8:00 pm I've signed in for the 8

Hello, i am in the off season at the moment, no ctc 2nd go...and no 4min time trial, but in the middle end of october i´ll start again, so if you need another rower,i am in with a low intensity 4min effort, october should be a quicker one...how many are we ?

We have 2 free seats at the moment, assuming Plummy joins us, so I would jump aboard if I were you, scores later in the season will be very welcome.Claudius wrote: ↑Mon Sep 28, 2020 9:55 am Hello, i am in the off season at the moment, no ctc 2nd go...and no 4min time trial, but in the middle end of october i´ll start again, so if you need another rower,i am in with a low intensity 4min effort, october should be a quicker one...how many are we ?
