Claudius, I think even with a (for you) low intensity effort you could earn the team valuable points. Don't you want to have a go at the four minutes?Claudius wrote: ↑Mon Sep 28, 2020 9:55 am Hello, i am in the off season at the moment, no ctc 2nd go...and no 4min time trial, but in the middle end of october i´ll start again, so if you need another rower,i am in with a low intensity 4min effort, october should be a quicker one...how many are we ?

Yes we are 10th and the cut off for entries has now passed. The website has always been quite hard to navigate and understand, though to be fair, it's a bunch of people giving their own time and solving a pretty complicated problem.Kevinhorne44 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 2:24 pm I cant make head nor tail of the figures.......It looks like we were 10th well done everyone for putting in a short notice piece. To explain - the first column of the team results page is the sum of our highest 7 adjusted distances. The points are then awarded as a percentage of the winning team, who by definition get 100 points.
The columns within the team are scrambled at the moment but you need to look at 09 distance and 09 adjusted distance to see who contributed what distance.
And yes I agree, good effort from a team we scrambled together at the last minute.

We somehow dropped to 12 after the deadline had passed . But still a good result and all very tight at the top. We have a team of recovering, returning and improving rowers so the only way is up folks

Did this one today, went alright as far as I'm concerned. Perhaps I can go a little bit faster, maybe another attempt later. At least it's almost four seconds faster then last year.
Good luck everyone, have fun

Great row there Fred! I managed a 5:44.6 / 1:47.0 yesterday which I'm very happy with. Maybe this time I can provide you a target?

Re: Indoor Rowers League 20/21
For once I got my nose ahead of JonT by using his target of 6:10.1 - I managed to scrape it down to 6:07.4 but really didn't like it and it was all a bit ragged at the end. I've just checked and that was exactly 4s slower than my best last year.
Nice work from all you other guys though!

Well done Mr P. I'm always happy to be the target. I didn't enjoy my go at it either, especially given it was the middle session of a 5 x 1609 pyramid training session . I haven't decided whether to give it another go yet, but given I now have a time to chase.......

Re: Indoor Rowers League 20/21
I couldn’t resist the challenge thrown down by Plummy and decided to have a session dedicated to the mile rather than incorporating it into a workout.
In order of importance, targets were: just finish/beat my last time of 6:10.1/beat Plummy’s 6:07.4/go inside 6 minutes.
I’m pleased to say I managed all of those with a row where I kept reasonable form and even managed to push hard at the end rather than hang on for grim death.

Thanks Peter, it surely helped
My previous post here was when I checked your time, now finished exactly two seconds faster then you. Your turn
This time managed a negative split overall, albeit with very little progress in the middle.

10 days to go folks.
We are three rowers short of a full team at the moment. Any effort is a good effort and will gain us position from where we stand.

5 Days To Go
We still have just 5 entries. I know Kevin and Louise plan to put in an entry before the end of the month, which would still leave us short by one. Anyone else ready and able??

Hi guys I've got a chest infection at present but I will put in a mile row in the next few days it won't be a hard row as that would not be wise.

Re: Indoor Rowers League 20/21
Well lads, I put mine in this morning. Last year I did it at 2:06.9. The Free Spirits pace predictor reckoned I could do it at 2:06.1 based on recent 4 min and 30 min efforts for the IRL/CTC. Managed it at 2:05.4 so pretty sure I couldn’t have gone faster...
Louise
For the record, I don’t enjoy these short things. There’s no place for them in the “middle-aged Mum combatting the lockdown kilos” rowing programme . So much more looking forward to next month!Louise

Good effort Louise. That actually gives you the third fastest adjusted time in the boat at the moment, and you moved us back into the Top-10Shmoo wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 11:24 am Well lads, I put mine in this morning. And thanks for planning to put in a time despite being ill Stumpy.

Thanks Guys. Kevin that is awesomely fast. I tend to err the other way and am fantastically ambitious about how fast I can row these short distances only to find that in fact I can’t . I’d already factored in a rerow for Saturday assuming I’d cock it up!
