Re: September ctc - 5k, standing start, unrestricted
A late entry for me this month. Didn't know how fast I could go, so my aim was to start really careful. Started a bit faster then intended, felt okay, decided to hold that pace, afraid I'd have to HD otherwise.
In the final stretch I realized 19:00 minutes were in sight and managed a 18:58.9. Perhaps a nice goal for Peter . An opportunity to climb from the third seat in boat 2 to the first seat, with Crushy in almost the same time.
Nice side effect is that it's also my eighth 900+ Nonathlon score this year.

Done it didn't empty the tank but I'm still learning to pace this stuff.
18:14.4 @ 1:49.4 / 27spm
Got the boat in the 18s
Well done everybody

That's a great effort Kevin! Should be a good Nonathlon haul too I expect.Kevinhorne44 wrote: βTue Sep 29, 2020 12:33 pm Done it didn't empty the tank but I'm still learning to pace this stuff.

Re: September ctc - 5k, standing start, unrestricted
I had my third attempt last night with the aim of getting as closely to 19 min as possible or better, go sub 19. Plan was to start around 1:56 pace (1 second slower than last time's average) and gradually pick up speed from there. This is how it went:
Pacing went pretty much to plan, except for a little slow down with 600m to go. Maybe that cost me those 2.8 seconds to go sub 19. Nevermind, my otw season is almost over and my erg season is only just beginning, so hopefully I can make up for this later in the season.

Thanks Kevin, I really tried but failed by a whisker. Your improvement was great by the way, I'm wondering when (not if...) you're going sub 18?Kevinhorne44 wrote: βSat Sep 26, 2020 9:08 pm Great effort next one with fresh legs will be sub 19 then
It was indeed Fred, thanks for providing it

It's a great turn out this month with 5 boats afloat and just one rower needed to float number 6. Any last minute takers?

Well done all. Six boats afloat and a seventh onshore.
