I've done it 👍 do I want to do it again........No & Yes.
Went out too fast😱😱 but thanks to the yards I've put in lately managed to hold on just.

1:35.7 505mts (1:34.7)
1:39.7 505mts (1:38.7)
1:40.1 505mts (1:39.1)
1:40.1 505mts (1:39.1)

Very confused looking at the monitor too 🙈 back to my training plan I have a TT to do.

Short stuff is not my strength, but as I took some time off I am well rested so I gave it a go. I managed negative splits with a slowest time of 1:43.9.

Cheers,

Well done Colin 👏😎 great pacing unlike my efforts 🙈
I'm still learning about short stuff haven't had many lessons to learn from.
But the ctc is doing what I wanted it to do. Make me do different things 👍 and share the painful experience with others 🤣

I didn't vomit, so I know I can go faster, but not sure I WANT to.

You looked short of ladies and I figured after a few weeks of long steady rows (after months of lockdown doing nothing but eating) maybe I was brave enough for something a bit more brutal. 0.3 seconds between the 4 reps so a good guess on pacing at least. Pace for slowest 2:06.7 = time of 2:08. Not sure I’ll be able to walk tomorrow 😱. Next month’s looks more inviting. Cheers. Louise

Nice one Louise. Hard to know what you can do pace-wise if you've been concentrating on the longer stuff.

Having done only on session on the erg this month, I decided (against the advice of my physio) to have a go at this month's challenge today. Forgetting how unfit I am, I decided that 2:00 would be a reasonable target that I should be able to achieve without too much stress.

I did the first interval in 1:59.7 and was well under this pace for the first half of the second interval, but then began to struggle and only a push at the end got me back to my target pace, although I was slightly slower this time at 1:59.8. A similar pattern emerged in the third interval, but I blew up with about 300m to go and HD’ed. If there ere another couple of days left in the month, I might try again at a slightly slower pace, but I’m probably better off following my physio’s advice.

I have a few aches and pains now and I think I need to get my back sorted before I try anything other than very gentle erging.

Last minute go for me - first time on the erg in well over a month - just moved house, which is very stressful, and I tweaked my back moving boxes when packing.
Set a target of 2:00.0 which I hit spot on in the first rep, so I had to just try and improve in the subsequent sets - managed 1:58.4, 1:58.4 and 1:57.7 so fairly pleased with that even though it was not quick enough to get me into a floating boat.
