Just going to log in and see if we can fill a second boat. If its possible would you like me to change boat teams on basis of speed or just fill the boat as people become available? Ill check in at least once a day.

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
Ok just been to check. Currently there are 15 eligible entries, but I cant part fill boats, so we need 1 more entry to fill that second boat. The good news is it looks like I can edit boat crews so I can fill the boats however suits you best. For the time being I have the full boat as described earlier.

Thanks Stan. I've put a message on a few threads to try and gather more entrants. Hopefully we can get 2 or even 3 boats. And apologies to everyone who has received numerous notifications

I did a UT1 6k on 6/4 @2:12. Very slow, but it was a 6k if you need it.
Doing lots of other rowing club on line training at the moment, so won't be able to fit this in sorry.
Boris, great to hear from you! As a doctor, sending best wishes and thanks for your efforts during COVID

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
Thanks for your support Stan!
I hope enough FreeSpirits will follow the call; nicely echoed by Max over the forum, so we can fill more boats.
Last day to row is the 12th and last day to register is the 14th. So I guess that leaves 13th and 14th for Stan to (re)arrange the boat(s) with the fastest in boat A and the next in B.
Letβs see what we can get entered. The current score (this morning) was pretty weak. So come on all, enter a 6k to float more boats and those that can, go fast!!!

I rowed a very slow 25:08.1 yesterday, so we should be able to float another boat.

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
Hello, after Spring came to Bavaria I am more on a real bike outdoors...but if you need me don't hesitate to ask, now its a bit late...but if possible for the next weeks I could jump in...managed a hm today to let the rower in the game ! Stumbled about this thread after i finished...could have done also a relaxed 6k...i dont make full efforts while i am on my emergency shift. But didnt know the exact rules...could i just join the other challenges of this series ?
βDo you wish me a good morning, or mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not; or that you feel good this morning; or that it is a morning to be good on?β

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
Hi Claudius, The rules are hard to follow and it depends on which part you read. But yes it looks like you can join in later rounds. It is certainly worth a try. I think your "relaxed" rows would be quite fast enough to make the boat faster!
Copied from the rules...
"On the Team Captain Series page, you can see which of your athletes have completed the workout and their result. You have until the entry deadline of each round to submit your boat; if an athlete does not enter a time, you can swap him or her for another active member on your roster. You can also finalize your boat based on your athletes' results. If you have fewer than eight athletes with a submitted score, your boat will not count for that round."

Hi guys, I entered a 6000 meter time Saturday. The challenge looks fun and I can fill in a boat if you need more people.

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
Morten, That's great! With your entry plus Tako, Wolfie and Peter I suspect Free Spirits will be a lot faster once Stan selects the final boat. Our current boat is 122 of 142. Plus we will have at least 2 boats

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
I've just checked the challenge page and I think my 26:24.1 from 6/4 would help the boat?
Says I'm in the team but not selected for a boat.

Same here, the spring series page says "You are not currently selected for a boat.". We should have enough entries to at least fill two boats.

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
Looks like Stan is working on something as I am according to the page in boat C with my 23:33.3 but I cannot see a B nor a C boat in the list.
So @Stan, I hope you read this and that you manage to populate as many boats as possible and with the fastest times in boat A.

The page says Iβm selected for Free Spirits boat B, but there isnβt a Free Spirits boat B in the list. Iβm sure it was there yesterday afternoon but now it disappeared?

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
Hi guys,
I entered two full boats by lunchtime on Monday. At that stage there were 6 spare rowers who I put into boat C. Nobody else had entered a time so I selected 2 names from the alphabetical list that was available, but unless they entered a time, the C boat wont have counted. I am about to take a look at whats happening this week.
The problem with this event is Im entering people into boats in the order in which they appear on the captains page, which is in order of time taken. However that means if somebody enters a faster time later, then they don't displace a slower rower, they get put in a later boat. The way around this is to not fill the boats until close to the end of the event. Is this ok, or can anyone think of a preferable way to do it?

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
ok just logged in to see whats going on.
We are now in the second week. The way its currently working is that boats A, B, and C are filled with the same people as week 1, but not everyone in every boat has entered a time yet. Additionally there are some new eligible entries. I can edit boats to take people out/put people in.
As mentioned in the previous post, I need to know how you want me to fill these boats. The most logical way is 8 fastest in boat A, next 8 in boat B etc etc. Deadlines for entries are Monday at 5 pm. I suggest all who wish to enter times, do so by Sunday 5pm (UK time). I will then fill boats from eligible entries either on the basis mentioned above or any other way you guys decide on. Hope that clarifies things, let me know how you want me to go. I will check back in tomorrow evening, Saturday and Sunday.

Thanks Stan for the effort put into it. As far as I'm concerned you fill boat A with the fastest rowers and so on.

I concur with Fred. Makes sense to have the fastest bodies in boat A

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
I agree with Fred and Dave, have the fastest eight in boat A, the next eight in boat B and so on. That means Stan has to wait until close to entry deadline before he fills up the boats. That should be even less work for you Stan because you'd have to do this only once vs. checking on the entries every let's say two days?

Thanks for the feedback guys. The above are the only entries so far for the 500m event. If anybody else fancies entering this, please log your time on the c2 site and that will add you to the eligible list. On sunday I will fill the boats on the basis of speed, as suggested. Have fun.
