Thanks Morten! Finally I could pull properly again. Lacking a lot of speed and fitness as can be seen on C2CTC, but it is improving

Well done folks, especially Tako.
Popped a score in ... knowing I didn't really have time before dinner.
A quick stretch, but no warm up. Paid dearly for it.
Set off for 150m @1:32 but blew up spectacularly as expected.
Finished 1:36.5

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
good morning all.
Sorry yet again but I messed up. Last week I was allowed to make changes until Monday and in fact finalised the entry on Monday lunchtime, but this week I hadn't realised the deadline was sunday. Next week the deadline is the 28th, so c2 are being a bit inconsistent. On the other hand I did promise I would do this yesterday and I didn't. I just wanted everyone who wanted to take part to have a chance to do so and I thought it could wait until this morning. So I can only apologise for week 2 and promise I will do better.

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
ok after more messing about I found there is a way to edit the entries for round 2. I had to depopulate every boat and fill with non entries so that I edit again and fill with eligible entries. This is stunningly badly organised by c2 and I am very disappointed with them, its a total mess. Once I had the boats cleared I could then fill them again with eligible entries. So I filled boat A with the 8 fastest. Success. Tried boat B, all of sudden people who were not eligible for boat A appeared including people with faster times. All I could do was fill boat B with the fastest times available. Same with C but there were not enough to fill it. I will have to email c2 and see if they can explain this because its baffling and cumbersome. I have however managed to get the entries in for round 2. Not sure when the table gets updated as its still the same as this morning, but it should be ok later hopefully. Anyway got to go to work now, but I will email c2 later and see if I can get better instructions.

Stan, thank you for your efforts!
I have to admit that the rules still arenβt 100% clear yet and no idea why they make the interface so difficult for the captain. So I guess we should take it as a learning experience and try to get the best possible score.
To me it looks like that each club can sign up a number of boats. Only the boats that float in the first round continue to the second and so on.
The crew of the different boats can be changed from round to round, so in principle that means the captain should be able to see the best eight and put them in the boat A, the next in B and so on for each round.
So now at least 16 should do a 30minute so we can keep the boats A and B afloat. But the more scores we have, the more Stan has to pick the best 16 from.

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
Thanks Tako. Yes your assessment is about right. The reason I got confused was that the event had moved to round 3 so that was showing, and it was not immediately obvious that round 2 could still be edited. When it was, it was still very difficult to pick the teams especially when not everybody appeared available for boat A. Just going to take a look at whats happened today.

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
Well the table was updated, so the 500m entries from teams A and B are now included in the table. While I did create a boat C it does not have the 8 entries so it doesn't count. As for round 3, providing you enter you distance by 26th april you will eligible to be put into a boat. I have until the 28th to put the entries in. So it looks like they intended the captains to be able to pick and choose the fastest entries etc. So we need all 21 of you to row the 30 minutes and if 3 new people could get an entry in as well that would allow the 3rd boat to float.

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
Got my 30 minutes done tonight with a very painful 7255m (couple of back-offs in that). According to my seasons log it should be my 4th best 30 mins of the season but I can't see anywhere in my log the SB of 7380m I set - just can't see it..hmmm. Anyway, that's my 30 mins done as I can't see me bettering that any time in the next week and a bit.

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
I rowed my 30 minutes as well. Had a go yesterday as well, aiming for 7900 mtr but I HD'd on that one. Decided to settle for less, 7800 would be okay as well, and ended out with 7826 mtr. My pace is slower then my 10K recently, so I'm not in perfect shape at the moment, which showed last week as well, I had hoped for a better 500mtr but I just don't have the right mindset at the moment I think (at least that was a score for the IRL as well).
Anyway, another one of the 24 entries is in. Thanks Stan for all the effort you put into it.

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
Well done Dave and Fred; and all the others that already rowed a 30-minute.
Yesterday I gave it a try and, though it was not as fast as I am used to, I am very happy to finally being able again to pull below 2:00 pace longer than 10 minutes.

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
Hi all. Just had a look at how entries are progressing this week. So far 24 people have registered a time so it looks like there will be at least 3 full boats this week. Reminder: the deadline is 26th April. I will fill the boats after this.
Stay safe all.

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
my 30 min effort as a failed ocd row- when i am in my shift as a emergency physician i tried to do only low intensity session- which works on the rower better as on the bikeerg with zwift- because on zwift you do not wanted to get dropped- and uups there you are right in the middle or even red zone. So i wanted to do a row near LT1 and the 2:00 min split seems to perfect - damn stroke rate in the first split

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
I put in a time just to get my butt back on the erg to be honest.
Multiple viruses and a bacterial infection have taken their toll
Nice low rating at 19 and a pace that at least took me through 7k, but the HR is a shocker. 50% of the row was in the red
I am still bamboozled by this competition by the way. According to the rankings our B boat is ahead of the A boat.

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
Ok guys. I have checked the entries and the final total was 29. I put the fastest 8 in the first boat and the next fastest in boat B, then C. I put the 5 spare rowers in boat D, but this one will not float unless we get at least 3 late entries. The deadline is today so its not looking likely. I will, however do a last check tomorrow evening.
Well done to all those who logged a time.

Re: Concept2 Spring VIII Series
ok just checked the situation and we have the 3 boats floating this last week. There were no additional last minute entries so boat 4 remains ashore. 2 people in last weeks entries have done the 4 minute challenge so far. I will give everyone plenty of time to do a time and then on Sunday I will fill the boats from all the entries using the same principles as last week. 8 fastest to boat A etc. Have fun!
