Concept2 World Erg Challenge

Post by Draggon »

If you're a Free Spirit and currently rowing at all, don't forget to sign on to the Free Spirits team for the Concept2 World Erg Challenge. Deadline is March 30, but the total meters from March 15 to April 15 all count if you sign up by the deadline. Free Spirits are currently running in 6th place...

One easy way to see whether you have signed up or not is looking at the Meterboard. If you have a globe at the end you are signed up if not you have a job to do! Go to your C2 log book, teams tab and sign up.

Your team needs you!

Jon, Hope the builders can stay on site and finish the job (assuming it's safe to do so). We're limited here to 2 workers but at least it's all in the garden. The downside is that it's a terraced house so all the material has to come through the house, literally 100s of bags of sand and cement, dust everywhere.

All the building work stopped yesterday Max when the government announced the lock down. I am going to try to liberate the erg today and put in some gentle metres using my new low-exertion approach.

From the sound of it, I think I may be in a better position than you temporarily. I'm not liking the sound of all those bags coming through the house.

On the plus side, you will know whether you have cleared up the potential contamination as it will be where the dust is!

I should mention my apologies to Tako - I didn't realize until after I posted that you had already started this thread way back on March 16 before the world collapsed into... well, whatever this is. Ah well, if we get a few more meters out of it, I won't feel too bad... :D

No worries! Just like you, I thought an extra reminder that leads to extra meters cannot harm :-)

Finding much easier to get meters with BikeErg. I have never been a meter muncher on rower but I can sit and pedal all day on BikeErg. Mainly use rower for strength - endurance training and core workouts at high drag.

I signed up about 5-6 days ago but haven't received the globe, which is okay, I would just like my meters to count. I'm pretty sure I am signed up.

Hi Mike
Thanks for pointing to this issue!
I might have found the cause of it, but I am not 100% sure. Hopefully it will look correct tomorrow, as a rough count on the Meterboard indicates that you are not the only one lacking the globe.
Fortunately the Mud challenge icons look ok :-)

Thomas did his magic again and all should have received their Globe!
Turned out that I made a minor mistake when setting it up.

Close fight between Us & Diamonds. They went ahead last weekend, but we pulled into a narrow lead during this week, so depends on how many erg over Easter!

HAppy Easter everyone, you know how to get rid of the extra calories from the eggs!

Yes - great job everyone who entered their metres. 4th place looks like it would have been incredibly difficult to get to but the battle for 5th with The Diamonds was a close one.
