Very nice row Louise and very evenly paced, I agree you couldn‘t have gone any quicker. Now over to that christmas chocolate :D

Great efforts everyone!

Having done very little rowing, and what I have done being at r19, I knew this wasn’t going to be a pleasant experience.....hence putting it off until almost the end of the month.

It was horrid! I had no idea on pacing. I told myself that 1:50 would be sensible, if fairly conservative. The first interval ended up at 1:44. This should have been a warning, I took it as encouragement #-o

Needless to say the pain grew and the pace dropped. The final interval was at 1:48 and that was pushing as hard as I could. An hour later I still feel sick

I won’t be trying this again. Ended with 1973.

Well done Louise. You set a nice target for me to aim at. Apologies for kicking you out of the boat though :D .

I didn't think this would be possible after all the Crazybear challenge HM's, all long slow pieces. Happy with this go after 3 days off the erg in recovery :D . Onwards for some serious 2K building for the next few months. Please don't ask me how come the pictures randomly go sideways :(

Great work, ladies. Close competition. And four boats afloat now.

Ah, nicely done Lesley! You can tell by the fact my last rep wasn’t any faster that I was absolutely shot... I don’t think I’ll be sneaking that place back this month. Besides, I’ve started on the chocolate already 😂

Great results everyone!

I did not really feel like having another go at this one, especially as I blew up twice in an attempt to improve my score.

Motivated by James and Jonathan, as they pushed Claudius into Boat II; hence giving me the chance to ensure my 2nd spot in the overall table for 2019 :-)

When registering the score I saw the advantage of entering a result early, because hitting the same score as others did before you, puts you behind them!

Well as Matt did his attempt still with the cast on his foot, I think he deserves the advantage :-)

So now waiting to see whether this will be enough for Boat 2 or whether others like Felton fly by.....

Congratulations Tako, though fo course disappointing for me :fswink:
Being this close to boat 2 decided to give it a try but HD'd after 4.5 reps. Lost confidence.
The first four were faster then necessary so perhaps another shot with another pacing on tuesday. I don't think you shuold be too worried though.

Could there be 1 more lady planning a last minute attempt and float one more boat? [-o<

Great idea. Nothing for me anymore this year. A sore throat and running nose, better luck in January...

It doesn’t float another boat, but seeing you lads all fight for your places made me feel I’d accepted boat 3 too easily. So I channelled the ethos of those lads from Skibereen (closed my eyes and pulled like a dog)... Boat 2 is mine again 😀.

Had a last minute attempt at this as I was hughly disappointed with my first go (1971m / 1:46.5). My aim this time was to simply beat last time‘s pace in each rep. This is how it went:

Amazing what a one week stay at „mum‘s hotel“ and some „stretching exercise“ over christmas can do :D Really happy with an improvement by 75 m, especially as this was done two hours after the 5k for the IRL :D
