Iain has joined the list, coming in at no. 5.
With only 5 weeks to go in this season, I will do weekly updates in April.

Re: Meta-nonathlon 2019/2020
Many thanks Rodger. Feel a bit of a fraud as last year I stopped rowing while still in the rapid improvement stage (hence wildly different paces). That said, only restarted with 4.5 months to go and only made lightweight to have competitive points very recently. Hope to improve a few more in the remaining 5 weeks, just how to do it without increasing my disease risk?

Thanks again for doing this Rodger.
Some great improvements there Iain.

Many thanks Jon. Flattered by poor 2019 figures, but good to see that I have surpassed where I got to last year before training abruptly stopped for 9 months of mega-commuting.

In case anyone is expecting the weekly update today: I will instead post the final season result this weekend.

Sorry to disappoint. Tried the 10k today @1:52.0 but at 5k I was just too hot and did the 2nd 5k at a gentle pace rather than HDing. No chance of the 5k tomorrow

Re: Meta-nonathlon 2019/2020
Sounds like the goal for next season is already set. The question is how quickly can you get to all green? I have to say, your schedule this week did look pretty punishing!MaxMacLaren1 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 7:11 pm Sorry to disappoint. Re: Meta-nonathlon 2019/2020
With the 2019-2020 season done, here is some dusting.
As it transpires, Iain has taken top spot in the final week of the season. Congratulations!
Both Iain and Torquemada have succeeded in scoring all greens across the board.
Beside these two, MaxMacLaren1, RichLindner and Grobi have also managed to reach 900 points, averaging over a 100 point score per piece.
For those who have been involved in the meta-nonathlon for a number years, I also assembled a multi-year ranking, containing the scores from 2015 onwards when the Free Spirits meta-nonathlon had its conception, up to now. Here, the scores over the years are simply added up. The multi-year sum then determines the ranking. I chose 2000 total points as the cut-off for the list. The second column gives last year's position for the participant. The cells are green when a season score is over 900, indicating progress compared to the previous year.
Hope this competition has served you well as a means of encouragement, motivation or just as a bit of fun.

Thanks, Rodger. White after three green years. Hope to better that this season. And yes, it's motivational and fun. Wanted to fill up the gaps in the last month.

Re: Meta-nonathlon 2019/2020
Hi Crushy, a warm welcome to the Free Spirits then. When you want to join the Free Spirits Nonathlon team you have to register yourself at www.nonathlon.com, after registering there you have to ask Stan in the Nonathlon thread here in the forum to add you to the team, you can't do that yourself. Don't forget to give him the name you used to register at the Nonathlon, it can be different from what you use here.
Then this thread, the meta-nonathlon, unfortunately you can't join this yet this season because it compares this season's results to the ones of last season. The first opportunity for you to join that will be next season. You don't have to do anything for that apart from being both seasons in the Free Spirsits team.
Good luck and lots of fun with the rowing.
Regards,
Fred

Re: Meta-nonathlon 2019/2020
Fred
Thank you for that.
I did Nonathlon last season (if only for about a month).
Do both seasons have to be as member of Free Spirits?
The info at the beginning of this thread suggests that being a current member of Free Spirits and having scores for last season and this is enough.

Re: Meta-nonathlon 2019/2020
I don't know whether you have to be a team member in both seasons. I think Roger can work around that, but I don't know how he gets his results.

Thanks Fred,
I'm hoping that our chat here will be enough for Fred to be able to pick up my info. I have the same username on here and Nonathlon: Crushy.

Re: Meta-nonathlon 2019/2020
Stan normally comes on the forum over the weekends, I'm sure he will add you to the Nonathlon team.
Rodger won;t be getting the Metanonathlon going for this season until there are a few more scores logged. I'm sure when he comes on he will see this and let you now if there is a way to use your scores from last season to give you times to compare against this season.

Re: Meta-nonathlon 2019/2020
Out of curiosity I checked when the first scores had arrived last season and in the first post in this thread I read this. You only have to be a Free Spirits member this season, so when Stan adds you everything will be fine.Rodger wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 9:52 am There are three requisites to take part in the meta-nonathlon:
1. you're currently a member of Free Spirits;
2. you registered at least one score on the nonathlon website last season;
3. you registered at least one score on the nonathlon website this season.
Keep rowing more, better or harder!

Re: Meta-nonathlon 2019/2020
Thanks for that guys. looks like I'll be good to go.
BTW just went on the Nonathlon site to check something and noticed what I think is 5 Meta-nonathloners in consecutive places (Assuming I get let in!!)
