Re: Nonathlon 2020
Having set myself a post SRIC festive challenge of reaching 8,100 points I thought it was time for an update. Two PBs this week have put me in a decent position but I've only got 9 days left before I'm away. But which order do I do the remaining 4 events in to maximise my chances of success. Hmm...

Re: Nonathlon 2020
Decided to tackle the HM first on the basis that a) the 5k and 10k will be hard b) I should leave the 500m to last because the pain will be short and if I stress my leg muscles it's not a problem and c) I could treat the HM as a bit of a recovery row after yesterday. Surprise, surprise it started ok but then got harder and harder! No idea how people manage to do the Crazy Bear challenge. Anyway a PB 1:22:40:4 @1:57.5 and 896 points +7 on last year.

Awesome job Max. But so close to 900 points: do you reckon you should go again ?

Re: Nonathlon 2020
Very tasty HM Max and very well done on your PB! Looking at your 2019 scores vs the 2018 scores for the nonathlon you will shoot up in the meta nonathlon table once Roger get‘s round posting an updated version

Re: Nonathlon 2020
Jon mentioned in the meta-nonathlon thread he started filling the blanks, I reckoned it was time to fill the almost complete blank in my nonathlon this year.
Last season's scores were pretty good for me so I was kind of reluctant to try up to now.
Decided not to look too much to those scores but go for the 900+ in the nonathlon.
Today 914 points for a 22:42.7 6k. That's three down six to go (skipping the FM as usual).
Merry Xmas

Re: Nonathlon 2020
Well done Fred. Looks like there might be a lot of place changes on the cards in the near future. I filled in the HM this week having finally managed to finish one so gathered 850 points or so for my missing distance (assuming the FM won't happen again this year)

Re: Nonathlon 2020
Welcome to the world of Nonathlon Louise. I hope you'll find the events an added motivation to row. And next year you will also be able to enjoy the delights of the meta-nonathlon!! Lucky you
Fred - you are on a roll! When do you think you will have a full set of results (including or excluding the FM)?

Thanks Jon! I am slightly afraid of the HM. The FM is out of the question

Re: Nonathlon 2020
In my case definitely without FM as well, just like Louise, but I don't know when I'll be ready for the shorter missing ones. Thanks to the holiday challenge I was able to row the longer distances fairly easy but sprints? We'll see...

Re: Nonathlon 2020
Oh no! You've given me a really terrible idea for next season that I just can't get out of my head... a minimum of 900 points for each distance!!! Today's 5k for the IRL was 18:10.5 @1.49.0 and is worth 912 points. It's going down to the wire.

10k today in 37:27.1 @1:52.3 which is worth 904 points. That means I'm on 7,240 points with only the 500m to go. So I need at least 860 points which means a time of 1:33.6 or better. Last year I managed 867 points so its going to be tight!

Re: Nonathlon 2020
On the 12th day of Christmas my true love (also known as the erg) gave to me... 872 nonathlon points and an equal PB!
500m in 1:32.3 so a grand total of 8,112 points. A great way to start the year .

Congratulations Max, that‘s a very impressive nonathlon score! This should also be very helpful for the Metanonathlon

Re: Nonathlon 2020
Thanks Peter. It has taken me nearly 3 years so I'm pretty pleased. Fingers crossed for the metanonathlon. I'm hoping for 900+ although I think there will still be 2 or 3 not green.

Re: Nonathlon 2020
Slightly embarassed with my current pace, but taken the plunge after making lightweight and now rowing 10k faster than 2019. So only 3 days of rowing so far at Lt Wt so 1k & 2k from interval session, hour from LSD, others pro-rated. Note to self, must do HM!
Stan, please would you add me to FS team (also entered as Iain). I had results from last year, so do I need to do anything else to be in the meta?
