Great competition going on here. Coming close to me as well. But it’s all for the team of course.
Again very good pacing, Peter

When I saw the occasional „19:00“ as the predicted finish I thought „why not give Mr. Bee a run for his money and go sub 19“. Well that‘s what I did, over to you Ian :D
Glad to have assisted with your motivation. I think you're safely out of my reach though Peter.

This lunchtimes effort. Similar story to my CTC last week - mentally I'm convinced I'm still a bit off fully recovered from BRIC, but once I get going I surprise myself. Within about 8 seconds of a seasons best which I'm very pleased with.

Team Guy - Much slower time here, but beyond expectation after a couple of weeks out with a trapped nerve in my right shoulder.
Set off with a target of 1:59/58/57/56/55 splits.
It went like so;
1:59.0
1:58.0
1:57.2 :-(
1:55.8 back on track
1:52.2
ave 1:56.4 / 19:24.4
Happy to be on the board.

An appeal from Team Philip skip:

Please get your entries in, chaps, before you are potentially overwhelmed by a surfeit of rich food and high alcohol consumption which is almost inevitable at this time of year. A Happy Christmas to you all and good rowing :!:

Nice row Felton with a very consistent pacing! =D> I think you can turn your attention back to mince pies and eggnogg now.

Had another go tonight with the plan to start around a 1:54 pace, so only a tad slower than last time‘s average (1:53.7), and then wind it up with 1k to go. This is how it went:

First three k went like planned and when the fourth k started I felt better than anticipated. So it was time for a change of plans  and open the hurt box a bit earlier. The fourth k was tough but doable and with less than 1000m to go it always helps my motivation a lot. With 800m to go things got uncomfortable but I was down at last time’s pace. So 800m left to work on bettering my old score. Those 800m hurt a lot, especially the last 300 and then going for a finish sprint with some 1:37s towards the end. Really knackered afterwards but happy with an improvement by 9.6 seconds :D This is also a new SB by 6.2 seconds (and a 6 years best).

Ey ey Captain! Entered a 18:40.7 which is 13.6s slower than PB, but considering my current state I am very please with it, although looking at the adj score is depressing. I have to wait until I am as old as I feel ;-)

Happy Holidays to you all!!!

great rows from everybody, esp. when a pb/sb is the result ! I have to pause rowing - hope only for a very short time- have to care about my family these days and my lower right arm(small injury - something like a strain); so talked to Santa Claus AND the Christkind - and both said - ok, in this difficult Situation we will do make an exception: you´ll get your present (BikeErg) in the middle of December- so i biked more than rowed recently- great feeling,i like it more than a smart trainer, will open a new thread when i got more time to write...

After my 10 year's best in the CTC now a 9 year's best in the IRL. Managed a 18:34,2. A relative stable first half, a stable and slightly faster second half with enough left to finish the last 500 meters in 1:46.8.
This was supposed to be my last serious row this year, going on holiday for a week this saturday but who knows what tomorrow may bring. Being in the relative flow I'm in the last couple of days I might even try a 2k tomorrow. But first Xmas...

Merry christmas everybody...

In order to avoid wasting my energy on trying to catch Felton in the C2CTC (knowing that Morten would push us all down a spot), I went for the IRL as FSP needs all the improvements we can get!

Went from 18:40.7 to 18:34.6, which is still short of my PB 18:27.1 but still a nice improvement!

Very nice final attempt Tako, well done!

The december challenge is over and like the month before both teams were able to hold their overall position, #12 for FSG and #13 for FSP.

I've just noticed Captain Philip's 279m earns an adjusted score of 433m for 1 minute  which had me checking the record books. The world record is 430m (hwt male 30-39). Well done Philip =D> ^O^ =D> ^O^ =D> ^O^.

PS Looks like it will be a tough month for some of us though, male hwts 40-49 get 18m added but 50-59 only get 8m

Max, I recall that discussion from last season‘s IRL, unfortunately I don‘t recall the explanation for it  I‘ve contacted Sebastien to clarify that matter and will report back here as soon as I get a reply from him.

edit:

The bonuses are based on the current world records and it appears that the 40-49hwt world record is indeed 10m less than the 50-59hwt world record (410m vs. 420m).

Thanks to 3 early entries, Team FSP is currently on 8th spot in the table and most importantly in front of Team FSG

Will see how long that lasts

Had an early go at this to get it done.
Old PB was 328m @1:31.4 and with a PB of 1:29.7 for the 500m and latest C2CTC sprint results a New PB was a must!

This is how it went:
New PB with 341 @ 1:27.9
As I was struggling with the finish I think that is all I have and hence won’t have a second go at this!

Good luck to all others that still have to get a score!!!

Team Guy:

I think i was a sprinter...once with 90kg  , doesnt feel good for rowing the last weeks, and now this weakness is showed in my recent results like the irl 1min row: 342 m, same split as my sb for 500m  so sorry team, maybe a better result in the end of the month, i hope my form will be back in some weeks...
