57 years old, 5"10', clinging on to 75kg and frustratingly but understandably inconsistent

Thanks Tako, I will be pleased if I can break 120 this year and then aim for all green next year. Which reminds me of your all green goal. Hopefully once your cold has cleared the March Madness challenge will mean you are in great shape to achieve the full set.

An all-green year is quite an accomplishment. How many years does it realistically take to build up to that?
People who tried them always strongly suggest rangefinders for hunting and for good reason too.

Potentially only two - if you had a slow year last year (injury etc) or are just starting out.

Re: Meta-nonathlon 2018-2019
Hi Cambre, This is my 2nd Meta-nonathlon year so I do have an advantage in that I've still been improving. If you are interested in relative performance then looking at the Nonathlon and the Concept2 Rankings will give you a good insight. Personally I think that a 900 Nonathlon score is pretty good as is a 90%+ percentile in the Concept2 Rankings*. But I may be setting the bar too high!!! It is hard to achieve that across short, medium and long distances / times because you need a lot of power for shorter distances and a lot of endurance for the longer ones.
Edit. *By sex, age and weight category.

Hi Cambre,
Where a 900+ score is good is when it is achieved in a second or even better, a third consecutive year.
A one-off 900+ score could be achieved(as Max says) if you are a relative newcomer, or if you had a poor previous year(last year I scored well over 1000 points in this Meta-Nonathlon despite not getting near any of my PBs)

Re: Meta-nonathlon 2018-2019
99 and amber for the HM is slightly irritating!!! As I didn't do one last year I understand the benchmark was my best nonathlon score (902 for the 5k) so the bar was always going to be pretty high. In fact I did not expect to get close but now I am does anyone know exactly how fast I would have to go to get green 100? If I try again I would really like to avoid 100 and amber. Thanks.

I think you could edit the score of your HM multiple times just to see at what result the score would tick over to 902?MaxMacLaren1 wrote: βWed Apr 03, 2019 10:13 am 99 and amber for the HM is slightly irritating!!! To be safe, the equivalent time to equate to over 911 points on the nonathon.MaxMacLaren1 wrote: βWed Apr 03, 2019 10:13 am 99 and amber for the HM is slightly irritating!!! Yikes.
What's your target on that basis Max?

Re: Meta-nonathlon 2018-2019
I was hoping that wasn't the answer! Because a 902 score is 1:21:45.8 @1:56.2 .
Yikes indeed! 911 is 1:20:57.3 @1:55.1 .
I really wish I had done a HM last season.

Meta-nonathlon 2018-2019
YEEEEEES!!!!!
FINALLY, another PB and hence another green.
And it was what I think my toughest and strongest one, the 10k, at least when ranking it in C2 log book. Went from 37:29.6 to 37:26.2 @ 1:52.4
So only two more to go for the season. Although still somewhat snotty and suffering from dry air (finishing with bloody lip) I believe that after this 10k, the 30min and HM are in reach by the end of the month
Now going out to enjoy the

Re: Meta-nonathlon 2018-2019
Hi Cuts (interesting name),
To appear in the Free Spirits list on the nonathlon site, Stan needs to manually add you. You can ask him to do that in the nonathlon thread here.
However, Stan is not as active as before, so I'm not sure you will get your name added in time (before the season ends). A PM might help.
Are you asking this to be on the meta-nonathlon next season? If so, as long as you are in the FS filter list next season, I will then take your 2018-2019 scores from the nonathlon website 'archive' so a comparison between the two seasons can be made. See also the very first post in this thread.

Re: Meta-nonathlon 2018-2019
Thanks Rodger,
User name Cuts taken from last name/ nickname, as with most user names it was taken at one time or another. Just took the first suggestion as an alternative. Stuck since.
Will send pm and wait and see.
The FS filter list, is that by joining FS team on the nonathlon site?
