Congratulations Claudius, that's a very fine effort! You started strong, didn't give in when things got ugly and had almost nothing left for a finish sprint -> very committed row from the beginning!
Is that a PB?

Well done Claudius, that is a very fine row . The first 1k is particularly impressive, actually the whole row is impressive, but being brave enough to go for a fast start, wow!

Very impressive rowing from everybody
This is a CTC where the risk of HD-ing seems larger than in most other ones ...
I've had 3 attempts so far, and inspired by other people's results I tried to go at my PB pace (40:38.0) for all of them. That would get me into boat 4 (no way would I be able to get close to David's or Ian's time, let alone Guy's ).
Unfortunately a PB was too much to ask this month, and I HD-ed in the first 2 attempts. Today's attempt was another failure, could only keep the pace for the first 5k, but I decided to keep paddling along to at least get a time in. I ended up with 42:45.2. When I just entered that on the CTC page, I noticed that I'm in boat 4 after all, beating Rodger by 0.5 seconds Sorry Rodger
I've got one more chance to row again tomorrow, if I feel up to it then I'll try to at least improve my SB and get close to the 41 minutes.

Re: June ctc - 10k, no stroke rate restrictions
Yes it is, thanks Peter !
Thanks Max, i always do a classical rowing start on standing starts, as i did in former times in the boat, 1/2 slide - 1/2 slide - 3/4 slide - full slide and after that 10-20 "fatt strokes" all you got, i never do count it, i just feel when the creatine-phosphat is empty and after that stick to race pace, thats why the first split is, if it is a all out effort, the fastest. Thank you for doing your attempt yesterday...so i had the chance to give it a try today to carry my butt away from the ejection seat of boat one...tomorrow i have to care about my kids ...so you have still some time left

SOS SOS
One lady is needed to go down to the bargain basement and step aboard Boat 7.
Give it a go; just go with the flow; you can row slow and just glow

Re: June ctc - 10k, no stroke rate restrictions
Thanks Fred! I did rest for a couple of days and decided to have a very last go (my sixth) last night. Plan was to start out a bit quicker than last time, so at 1:59.x pace, get quicker gradually every 2k and then see what‘s left in the final 1k. This is how it went:
Plan worked out well and other than last time I had something left for a decent finish, so very happy with an improvement by 11.3 seconds. Result are new SBs for 10k and max heart rate (190 bpm )

Re: June ctc - 10k, no stroke rate restrictions
Nice row Peter - looks very well controlled. I did have another and although I got further than on Wednesday (where I bailed at about 16 minutes) today I bailed at 30 minutes where my average had dropped to 2:00.7. A few degrees cooler Mr Bee and you never know...there could have been a pipping at the post!

Re: June ctc - 10k, no stroke rate restrictions
What a pity, Dave, you couldn't make it all the way. And Peter, very good last (?) try. Personally I didn't have the nerve to try it once more after last weeks PB.
Yesterday I wanted to check out how the July CTC feels because I don't have much time in July to row. Going on holliday and no C2 nearby. The session was very usefull merely because I found out that my new laptop had an energy mode in which after ten minutes the screen went black. Should be no problem but my RowPro session wouldn;t start the last rep after that, better to find that out when I'm practizing then when I'm going for real.
Today also wanted to do some shorter stuff and managed to row my fastest 1K for 6 years. So perhaps tomorrow and/or monday I'll go for the next CTC.
Good luck everyone who's trying the 10K one last time today.
