Congratulations Fred! Good effort! So far I have not been able to beat that time, but still some days left to try

Fantastic 10k Fred, well done.
Hopefully there will be a few more ladies trying this one before the end of the month.
My other half Emma P just had a go at the 10k so that's 4 boats floated now.

Thanks Gregor and Emma for filling another boatGregor Andrews wrote: ↑Sun Jun 24, 2018 5:47 pm My other half Emma P just had a go at the 10k so that's 4 boats floated now.

I had four attempts so far this month with none of them being sub 40, very much to my annoyance. I had my fifth try last night and finally managed to go sub 40:
Plan was to start out around 2:00 pace for at least the first 5k and then see if there's anything left to go a tad quicker in the second half. Turned out there wasn't too much left but happy with a result under 40 minutes for now

Well done - a lot of super fast times, sofar
Didn´t think I would make it this month... Actually, I thought about doing the ctc on the 2nd of June - opted for a bike ride instead, think this was a very, very lucky decision Did 500m a couple of days ago at 2:41 pace, then a 10k seemed far, far away... But felt good today, and decided to try and see how it went. Of course - wanted a sub 50, and it just went better and better:
2k 9:53.6 2:28.4 19
4k 9:31.8 2:22.9 21
6k 9:27.2 2:21.8 22
8k 9:17:5 2:19.3 22
10k 8:57.6 2:14.4 23
T= 47.07.7 2:21.3 21

Normally I'd expect to see that read as 37:xx:xx and not be surprised at all. 47:xx:xx looks bizarre with your name against it but it is truly amazing given what you have been through - well done sir!

So glad I didn't know you were doing that, Erik! (I am a bit of a worrier ) But glad that you've done it. Bet it feels good to have overcome a few psychological demons so soon!

Erik that is amazing and scary at the same time. Just theorizing, and surely you have been advised by your cardiologist properly — some forms of arrhythmia get triggered with more catecholamines present.
A couple of mattresses on either side of the erg might be good in case you get zapped while rowing.

Well done Emma P and Gregor! My better half Spookaboo just floated another boat and, thanks to her, I can be in a boat as well. I need a megaphone to talk to her in her boat though.
Because of a college tour with my daughter I can’t go again this month.

Re: June ctc - 10k, no stroke rate restrictions
Thanks for your kind comments, guys
@Dave: Yes, numbers felt quite new to me... Must admit that I thought that the hour would be the "limit". After a start a little "above" 2:30 split I felt good, and without any drama I was able to "push" it "below"...
@Max & Co.: Yes, I think the Docs were OK with the "heart" part of the equation... Actually, some would have liked to put me to a max bike test last week - fortunately for me they couldn´t find an available time for me. So will probably do this in 3 to 4 weeks... My major concern was my ICD and its cicactrice, so not to harm it I barely bent in my elbows during the drive - bent my wrists "instead"...
@Jane: Promise I won´t make an announcement in the future...
@Boris: Heart seemed to respond with a very steady beat, not even noticed any extrasystoles... Yes, thought of putting mattresses, but I already was a good bit in. Instead I strapped out, in the thought that this would give me "cleaner" fall...

Re: June ctc - 10k, no stroke rate restrictions
Well that was brutal! A number of times I felt like easing off a little to ensure I finished but then with 1k to go I thought I might as well give it everything. Counting down the strokes at the end, seeing 1:45, 1:43, 1:42. If I can just keep this going 4 strokes, 3, 2, 1 but still 30m to go... come on almost there. Then a great feeling to see 37:09.2!
Apologies and thank you to Felton, I wouldn't even have tried to go as quickly had it not been for the targets you set.

That‘s a hell of a row there Max, well done! It‘s 30 seconds quicker than your PB from three weeks ago, isn‘t it?
I wonder what Claudius‘ and Felton‘s response will look like?

Brave man Max - very brave.
I had a go last night and melted at 4k. I could have managed another 1, maybe 2k at the pace but no way was I going another 6 so it looks like Mr Bee is safe - again!

Excellent row Max It would be remiss of me not to at least try to better it tomorrow but I foresee a very painful 40 minutes ahead

Very impressive indeed, Max. Half a second ahead of Morten, the H three of you in boat 1 are very close together. Let's see what happens these last two days but respect for the way you finished that row!!

Wow ! That is a great row Max!!
Sounds like you found the same magic breakfast as Guy!! What was it???
Also great efforts by all others, especially the ladies, in floating this many boats!
Sheena and Barbara, maybe one of you can get the last boat on the water as well??? Please!

I hope you will be well soon...with a steady beating heart but good responding to exercise !
yes ! congrats ! Perhaps i will do it one more time...but on sore legs...the panorama tour was really some fresh air, thx, very wonderfull ride, but very sad one participant lost his life due to a crash on a descent part of the tour
so perhaps this afternoon...with a HD Demon in my back...let see what will happen...
and yes...please one more Lady to go...7 Boats would be great...!

Well I gave it a go but the HD demons came way too early and I couldn't fend them off. Would have taken my 2nd fastest 10k ever to get into boat 1 anyway and I'm not quite there yet. Well done to everyone taking part, another great month of close battles
