Have had my model D since june 17. How often do you all oil the chain? How often do you replace then chain? Is it difficult to do?

Re: Model D chain life?
I can hardly think of anyone ever having to change a chain - although I think Paul Victory may have done a couple of years ago (plus the main cog?).
I think it is recommended that the chain is oiled every 250,000 metres but I don't do it anything like as frequently as that - maybe once every million? You don't pour the oil directly onto the chain (messy) you pour it onto a kitchen towel/rag and then rub that along the chain length. My chain is 28 million or so old as is still fine (although it is a Model E chain (nickel coated).
