Free Spirits On The Water

Post by Mike Channin »

With all this talk of OTW rowing, and now even All-in-Ones going on the FS kit list, when are we going to get a REAL Free Spirits boat floated???

Have no idea how on earth we can arrange this - will need a friendly boat club as a minimum.

(Anyone got coxing experience????)

Wouldn't it be cool, though???

I am not getting in an all-in-one or a boat until I am close to 16 stone. Still about 30lbs to go.

Otherwise it would surely sink...

Sat in a shell last Saturday. Felt great, despite oars too long etc.. Co-worker Tom held the boat, so I could do 20' of practice. Will try and go for real, first with Tom in a double. I looked already at shells (just to help keep the dream). I was sore all around from trying to balance - huge difference between erg and water! I'll also try and get some more kg's off -7 down, 25 or so to go...
